That's mainly what I have been doing as well. I picked up about 8 disney titles, 2 horror movies I wanted and I also ordered SCTV Vol 1 & 2 and Smallville Season 3.

Hasn't happened yet though...
The pawn shops already do that, so it would have happened before you ever saw them.

With about $390 in credit I've traded in and upgraded my copies of Swingers, Clerks, Dogma, Groundhog Day and Princess Bride. I also bought a used copy of NFL 2K5 and a copy of Last House on the Left.

I preordered Looney Tunes golden collection Vol. 2 for $29.99, and I plan on picking up Halo 2 next month and will probably take advantage of the $14.99 unlimited rentals before that deal is off the table.

Well now that Ultimate Matrix Collection is overpriced and out of the question (although considering BBuster is selling the Shawshank Gift Set for $60, that shouldn't have come as a surprise), I don't know what I'll get with the remaining credit left.

OMG OMG OMG!

i just went to trade in my last three dvds! And guess what I found!!

A title that I was going to get at the supposed up and coming DDD 20% off sale:

The Vanishing Criterion Collection.

Bought this and Heathers with my credit at 2 for 20 and was out the door!

YAH for me.

Actually when I found The Vanishing, I gorged through all of the PVDS to find more Criterions.

But I did find the Rock at another one, so...

Well, this deal just keeps getting better and better.

SOME BLOCKBUSTERS MIGHT PRICE-MATCH OTHER RETAILERS.

EDIT on 10/21: I went back to the same store where I was able to price-match last week, and the manager said they were no longer doing it. Apparently the clerk who gave me the price match didn't know the new policy. Well, I guess I'll try swapping the value cards for gift cards and check for some deals online.

I called two pawn shops around my area to see if they carried DVD's and how much they were and I was surprised by the prices.

$7.99 at one store and $10.00 at another but the guy did mention he would discount if I bought multiple titles.

I guess even the pawn shops are expensive in the Bay Area or I'm not looking in bad enough neighborhoods.

I just bought Naked Gun DVD giftset ($30.99, not bad) and Searching for Bobby Fischer ($16.99) online. Anyone know of any reasonably priced dvds online? Can we get some sort of list going (not preorders).

I've picked up Clerks X new, found a copy of Charade: Criterion Collection that someone traded in that was in perfect condition that qualified for the 2 PVD for $20. I was surprised to see a Criterion at the table, because everything else was pretty much stuff I'd traded in.

Man, why can't I find any Criterions?

I did find a mint copy of "City of God", also got "Kill Bill Vol 2" (two titles I can't get from CH). Also took the opportunity to buy City by the Sea (WS) for $4.99, so I can trade in my FS copy (which I have yet to watch, but if I don't like it, it will get traded back in).

Traded 20 DVD's in for $160 of store credit and then put it all on an online gift card.

Their prices online are pretty much inline with Amazon and all the other retailers.

November is a great month for gamers!

Preordered:

Ratchet and Clank : Up Your Arsenal
Prince of Persia : Warrior Within
Halo 2 : Limited Edition

and still have a few bucks left.

picked up Ed Wood and The Untouchables new for $21.99 and $12.99 respectively. Not bad for Ed wood if you don't have the Best Buy 20% off coupon since the advertised price is $19.99

superdeluxe...

The only BBV stores that I have heard of that sell video game systems are thos with GameRush stores inside the B&M stores themselves. Right now they appear to be limited to Southern California.

You should be able to order games and accessories online but just not the system itself.

I traded in 52 DVDs today and used some of the credit to get the Looney Tunes Volume 2 set for $29. Still have almost $400 in credit remaining to use in the future.

I also checked out a local pawn shop in the area for cheap DVDs but they were too high to be worthwhile trading in. But I did find a nice copy of the Blues Brothers on DVD, which is now OOP for only $6. I grabbed it since I sold my copy several months ago for $36 at Half.com. Now I'm deciding whether to keep it or sell it since the prices are still high.

Actually, they (gamerush locations) are all over the Atlanta area also (as well as several other places I'm sure)...

I had $136 dollars. After spending some of it, I bought 2 $50 giftcards and used them online to purchase some superbit titles.

It was sweet!

ScottyWH. thanks for the info. BBV doesn't make it easy to find out which stores have the GameRush stores. Maybe we should start a list?

Did you use a Value Card to purchase the Giftcards? ... or was the money on your Account?

Thanks.

From my experience, you can only purchase online gift cards with in store credit. The gift cards specifically state on the back that gift cards cannot be used to buy gift cards but YMMV.

You could tell them that you are planning to file a complant with the Consumer Affairs Office. In many states, it is unlawful to do what this manager did. (Even if it is a mistake)
