The navigation system for the lise of stores is terrible as constant scrolling is required. Thanks for the link as I have now verified the closest one to me is a mere 4 hours away.

My Blockbuster allowed me to buy a Gift Card with my Value Card. They read the back of my value card and saw no conflict with its terms.

Again.. YMMV. I used in store credit to buy the gift card ( 6016 as the leading numbers ) and everything worked out OK. Just aske the BBV employee before they issue the credit.

Picked up Arrested Development today for $34.99. Not too bad considering it is only abour $7-$8 more than any other B&M near me.

Plus I traded in some udder crap and of course one of those 2.99 pawn shop dvds given to them for $8 sort of evens it out in my opinion.

conscience. I agree. The Arrested Development : Season One and Ren & Stimpy : Seasons One and 2 are decent deals given their BBV price of 34.99. Hopefully picking mine up today.

I would hurry. As the store I went to only had one copy of AD and I asked if they had gotten anymore and they said no.

They also have one copy of Ren and Stimpy (which I already got)

That isn't to say that your local store will just have only ordered one copy.

It just seems that at every BB I go to, they only order one copy of a television season box set.

I picked up a new copy of the 2-Disc Casablanca today for $19.99. Prices matches the going online price.

They also had the 2-Disc Right Stuff and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves for $21.99. Not as good a deal, but still close. May pick those up later this week.

I haven't seen a single Used Box Set at any of the 5+ BBVs that I've been to in NYC. The best trade-in that I've seen has been the Monty Python & the Holy Grail SE with the slipcover for $9.99 but I have that already.

So the price doesn't come up as 2 for $20, they have to scan a promotional UPC? So if the employee tries to tell you that box sets don't count, you should ask to see a disclaimer?

Don't know about any disclaimer. Don't know if they are conidered eligible for 2 for 20. All I know is when they scan the 2 for 20 upc it only charges me that price.

Example:
Simpsons Season 2 (29.99)
Sopranos Season 1 (49.99)

scan upc coupon -60.00

Sale 19.98

+tax

I can post reciepts if you guys want.

I have done this with 2 different stores so it's the system.

What I meant was, when I tried it, the guy told me box sets were not included, so he did not scan the 2 for $20 code. If the box sets are PVDs, and the signs say all PVDs are 2 for $20, they should count unless there are disclaimers posted.

Best bet is to include 2 regular previewed dvds along with the box sets so when they scan the 2 for 20 code it will discount all of them to 9.99.

Yes, I did.

Value cards ARE NOT gift cards.

A value card is almost like in store cash. You can use it on anything.

So, I bought giftcards for online purchases.

BTW - Make sure that the gift cards start with 6016 and has a scratch off pin. Otherwise, you cannot use them online.

I've seen traded in box sets behind the counter at two differents stores but they never make it out for resale. Either the employees are buying them or they are sending them off somewhere. I'm going to inquire and see what they say.

Glad you said this... I got a Value Card, and assumed it WAS a gift card and could be used online... Now I will go buy a gift card...
