Yep, it looks like Amazon finally caught the mistake. I expect all orders will be cancelled eventually. Maybe a few orders would get through if they had any in stock.

in my experience amazon has always honored their mistakes. i've never ordered any dvds that were mispriced, but i have ordered lots of other items.....things that should have been marked for 120 and were just marked 20....they always just send everything out. i haven't even had to call to argue for it....i hope that this will be the same way!

Uh-oh. I've just checked the status of my order, and The Bretts has disappeared! No e-mail notification or anything. The three books I added to the order to break the $25 mark are still on my order, estimated shipping date September 28. Wonder what'll happen next?
FWIW I have had two amazon price mistakes honored, but one of them was on amazon.co.uk, where I got I, Cladius in R2 for less than half-price, and the other was amazon.ca, when they had the last set of Danger Man (aka Secret Agent) listed for pre-order for Can$20.99 for three discs. List price for this is US$60.

How many days did it take amazon to figure out that something was wrong? Like 5 or so? How long did it take Circuit City to figure out something was wrong with their recent pricing error? Like 4 hours?
Amazon even has their public "sales rank" while circuit city doesn't have anything like that to alert people that something is selling at abnormally high volumes.
Amazon either is counting on people ordering multiple items, or they are insanely incompetent.

I got the e-mail as well, and what's more, there's no option to cancel the order for the three books, for which shipping will be $5.97. Needless to say, I've sent them an e-mail complaining for not even offering me the option to cancel. As the one who first posted about this, I suppose I feel a bit cheated, but never mind, I've got loads of British stuff to keep me busy, and quite a bit more coming from amazon.co.uk :-)

I still think that no matter what the misprint is in a situation like this from an online retailer, they should always honor it until they fix it, but that's just me. I know that if I'm in a B&M retail store and see something priced wrong, 99% of the time they'll honor the price and then make the necessary correction, to me that's just good business and customer service.

Cancelled here as well. (my) Rule of thumb: NEVER order a book or something you really don't want to get free shipping on an Amazon mis-price...I haven't had good luck cancelling the add-on that gets me over the hump.
