Amazon.com misprice on The Bretts

DVD Talk Gold Edition
I know I'm in the right forum when I'm not alone in thinking about buying this solely because it is supposed to retail for higher.
Ultimately I think I'm going to be able to hold out. I've never heard of this, it doesn't even have 5 IMDb votes, the odds are that it isn't going to be something I would watch much of if even half, and there is going to be no trade in value as even trade sites will both quickly meet their quota for this and decrease their offering price as soon as they notice.
Then again, if I could get it with free shipping I probably would but I doubt they would send it to me if I tied it to a pre-order correct?
Also, thanks to this OP and OutOfStock whom posted it a day or two earlier in the bargain thread.

The Bretts originally played on Masterpiece Theater. However this version has 5 hours that never was broadcast in the USA.
If you enjoy this you might also enjoy The Cazalats(another Masterpiece Theater which is also about a british family during
The Rise of Naziism. Much more serious then the Bretts. I believe the Bretts was written by Rosemary Sisson who wrote many
of the Upstairs Downstairs episodes. Since this is from BFS, copies should run out very fast.

Thanks to the OP for the heads up. I actually saw this in my STL before seeing this thread. Allmovie.com wasn't too kind with this title, so I didn't jump on it. I hope it's actually more than it seems for those that did get in on it.

I jumped in on this one as well. I told the wife about my deal and she was like "Cool, what's the Bretts about?" My response after looking around at the ceiling was "You know, I have no idea." She said "you just bought it because it was priced at $5 I bet." "Yep, you got me."
So yea, it's pretty sad. LOL.

Just tried my luck on this, I missed out on the CircuitCity prices, got in on the Suncoast (only to be rejected), so we'll see what happens with this one...

November!?
Did you get in on this deal a while after it had first been reported here? That might have something to do with your late shipping date, seeing how this was the #23 item at Amazon for a while...it is now at #100.
Here is my information, and I got in on the deal pretty early on.
Shipping estimate: September 29, 2004 - October 1, 2004
Delivery estimate: October 1, 2004 - October 7, 2004

I think it had something to do with the fact that I changed it from ship as 1 group to multiple to see if it would change anything. EIther way, it now says:
Shipping estimate: October 18, 2004 - October 25, 2004
Delivery estimate: October 20, 2004 - October 28, 2004
