I think I'm the only person who didn't get this deal - I gave up too easily!

I ended up getting the set from DDD for about $43 shipped from the "mistake sale". Still good, compared to Best Buy, which was $59.99 on sale at the time!

(Forcing myself to look at the bright side of things!)

Thanks calhoun07 for starting this thread!

I can't believe that this deal is still alive. I went in and requested this title about three weeks ago after reading this thread. I figured what the heck, I'll give it a shot.

Last night I get a call that it came in. I pick it up today (7/20/04) and it rings up at $29.99. If this is a price mistake, how come no one's figured it out yet? Weird.

Thanks also to all the folks reporting their more recent purchases at the discounted price.

Bob

Could it be because this isn't that much of a price mistake?? $60 @ BB vs. $30 at BBV - whereas the ST Voyager S2 was $90-100 vs. $30. Little bit more of a "blip" on the old radar screen???

Just a thought

Now, I still have to go back to that 1st BBV who refused to order my copy & get my $ back.

I feel really awful asking this, but could you give me a short version of what I'd have to do to get in on this deal? I tried skimming, but there's so many posts. I'd really appreciate it, and if not, that's okay too. Thanks. Let me know.

Go into Blockbuster and place an order if they don't carry it. Go to the counter and ask them to order it for you making sure they fill out their order form to send because telling the computer doesn't tell their distributor to send them a copy. You can ask for the pink copy so you have proof of them placing the order.

They may accept full payment, partial, or none depending on the store and employee. They should then call you when it arrives.

If I missed something someone will correct me.

That's a *great* summary. In my case, I forgot to ask for the pink copy of the order form. I should have done that.

But I did have the the Blockbuster rep, who happened to be the store manager, write the $29.99 price on the form. That would give me something to reference if the price rang up higher when I picked it up.

They also would not let me pre-pay for the set since it "was against store policy". They said that this would save both of us the hassle of a refund in the event the DVD set was not available from the distributor.

I work at Blockbuster and I'd been reading this thread since it first appeared, but I was still a little worried they'd charge like $60 for it if I ordered. Then I'd be stuck paying that much for it. But last Thursday I was bored so I called the order in, then yesterday it showed up. I ended up paying like $25 something for it, the invoice that comes with the little special order boxes showed a $52 price next to the title, but I still shows as $29.99 in the computer.

Interesting thought. Maybe this is more of a blip. But this is a great blip for us!

This Deal can still be found!

Just in case this got lost in the recent flurry of posts....some people are *still* getting in on this deal. As recently as July 20th, I was able to pick it up for $29.99.

Thanks calhoun07,

This is an awesome set. I would have paid more for (almost did) but your deal saved me a good amount.

Don't forget that Blockbuster also takes trades. I got rid of a few dvd's for this awesome set. $5 is the minimum trade.

Hey! Mine was on backorder after a 2-week wait, and now, after 3 total weeks, it just came in!

I walked in, they handed it to me (I'd prepaid), and I walked right out. Very nice. Thanks again for this deal!

Deal still alive and well.

Deal is still alive. Ordered mine on July 23 from local Blockbuster. Just picked it up today, 7/31, for $29.99 + tax. Many thanks for the post.

SCTV Volume 2 has now been announced. I'll bet this one won't be $29.99 through Blockbuster.

No. It'll probably be $129.99 knowing BBV.

Wasn't $129.99 the correct MSRP anyway? It certainly had a ridiculously high MSRP, suppossedly because of the music licensing fees. Otherwise $29.99 would probably have been a fairly common street price for the set.

I believe the MSRP was $69.99
