Okay, I wanted to post a coupon here...I hope it hasn't been posted, but if so, I apologize. It was in the student newspaper today, and it's for first time users only.
The code is
GEORGIA2
and it expires on 5/23/03
Hope this helps someone out there.

Thanks for your intentions, reubs82. This code was posted by hbubble yesterday in this thread (check back a few entries). You should have noted that it's a $5 off $20 coupon. The expiration date is very nice to have (which wasn't posted before). Anyway, thanks again.

AutumnNights, I'm pretty sure that you're still considered a new customer even though you're registered with eBay, as long as you've never used half.com before. Go ahead and try it, and in the worst case scenario, if half doesn't accept the coupon then don't complete your order.

Had you purchased $50+ in merchandise, you could have got $15 off. Could have basically bought a 2nd one for $25 more. Or, buy a $15 DVD and get another $15 DVD free.

But, you did say "new user" coupons, right? To use Half, you don't need to register through eBay. Just register through Half sign up.
But again... you said "new user" coupons. DVDTalk certainly doesn't support using coupons multiple times, as they deleted my message and said I was posting information to "defraud a company." Of course, nowhere in their terms and conditions does it say you can't use a coupon more than once, nor does it say you can't use more than one account. In fact, if you register at Half, add $50+ of merchandise to your account, and use the "semester" coupon, the coupon doesn't even say it is for first-time users.
I'm not sure how this is defrauding companies. We are following their rules 100%. If they tell us not to use a coupon more than once, then we won't. But, nowhere do they tell us.
Use this info how you wish. Ethically, the coupons should be reserved for new users. But, is that thinking the same thinking that tells people they shouldn't join Columbia House DVD club over and over after fulfilling the agreement? Those people are getting DVDs for less than $8 each -- even the new Dances With Wolves release!
Go to the DVD clubs forum for more info.

A word of caution...
You will be banned from using both Ebay and Half.com if you are caught using the new user coupons multiple times. It happened to me. I can no longer buy or sell at either site. So decide for yourself if its worth the risk.

I bought my DVDs through Amazon.com using their "Used and New" link which is the same as Half.com
I bought Band Of Brothers and From Here to the Moon which worked out to $2 more than using half.com with the $15 coupon.
Even though I never purchased from half.com, because I have an EBAY account, it won't let me use the new customer coupons.
Yes, I could create a new account and hope they won't ban me
if they figure it out, but its not worth it.
+ for Amazon
The ratings of the users that I bought from Amazon vs the the users from Half.com, Amazon had better ratings

Having an eBay account and using a first-time buyer coupon at Half have nothing to do with each other.
You can sell 6 trillion items on Half AND eBay, and until you make your first purchase at Half, you will always be eligible for the coupon.

I tried a few times and the coupon went in and when I tried to check out it removed it. I tried to put it back and it said is was only for first time customers.
So they don't want my money. Fine, I went to Amazon.

However, Wolf Husky said he's reused coupons 300 times so ya gotta wonder if doing it less than 10 times would raise a red flag. Dunno.

Paranoia, were you logged in when it said for "first-time customers only?" I know that if you enter a coupon without logging in, it will say that. I think it says that even if you don't have any Half/eBay cookies.
brown1978 -- You don't even need a new credit card. You can simply remove the card from your other account, and enter it into a new account with new email. A different email address is all you really need.
I am not sure about this, but I think they mostly hunt for the shill buyers. Shill buyers use a seller account and list items to sell for differences of $50 so they can use the coupon and get dirt cheap products. In other words, if someone wants to buy a $20 DVD, they could list a bogus product for $30, go to a new account, buy the DVD and the bogus product and use the $15 coupon. Then, they cancel the order for the bogus product, and if the seller of the DVD confirms the order, the total purchase price is about $5 ($20 - $15). Shill buyers could do this an unlimited number of times. I don't believe there is a criminal aspect to this, since it doesn't say that you can't use a 2nd account in their T&C. The only penalty seems to be losing use of Half and eBay, reported by an above poster. Who knows though. I don't even know if you can use a coupon on a partially cancelled order anymore.
FYI -- Most of my purchases through Half have been shipped directly from the seller to others. Very few of my orders have been shipped to me.
Use any of this information at your own risk. We all know that the coupons are intended for first-time buyers. I would think if Half/eBay/PayPal really wanted to stop repeat use of coupons, it would be extremely easy to do so. Regardless, we know that they lose $ when we use a $15 coupon on an order less than $150. So, use any of this information at your own risk. I am not suggesting repeat coupon use. I am merely reporting my own experiences.

On a side-note, do any Half sellers find it a tad unfair that Half charges $2.49 shipping on a DVD purchase and only reimburses the seller $1.89 to ship a DVD? What do they do with the other $0.60 on every single DVD purchased? Is 15% commission not enough?
