Same here. I just now placed an order, and the LOVEFIVE and LOVE5 didnt work. But the COOL5 did. Just an extra FYI.

I saw FIVEFREE as a $5 off $10 for New customers yesterday. I thought it was on the list before, but I don't see it here now.

I tried to use STICKY96 and was informed:
"The coupon or gift certificate code you have entered has expired."

I guess sticky96 has expired. Any other $15 off coming? That would be great for some holiday video game purchases.

Try sticky69 instead of sticky96. I would check but can't from work. Also try text2002 for $15 of $50

Success!

Just purchased Cowboy Bebop Session 1 (verified it was the Bandai R1 disc) for $10.48 using the $5 off (Cool5) coupon. I deleted the half.com cookie and created a new account, plus used a virtual CC number. Everything went very smoothly.

I do have 1 question though: When using the NEW Customer coupons, has anyone had problems trying to use a virtual CC # but having the same billing address?

Upgrade to Pearl Harbor Vista (4 disc) for as little as $1 after MIR

At half.com, the Pearl Harbor Vista/Directors cut DVD (sealed) is going for as little as $15.98 shipped. If you use a $5 off $10 coupon code you'll get it for around $11 shipped. If you've got the previous version, you should be able to get a $10 rebate, however there are some catches:

1. You most likely will not get an acceptable receipt from the half.com seller. However the rebate only requires a photocopy of your receipt, so you can probably figure something out.

2. If you don't buy a sealed copy of PH Vista you won't get the rebate form and you will have to hope you can use the rebate form from Best Buy discussed here (which may or may not require a Best Buy receipt).

3. If you don't buy a sealed copy of PH Vista, you may not get the proof of purchase required.

4. You don't need your receipt from the original PH (good for Columbia House buyers), but you do need the proof of purchase or a photocopy of the back of the original PH.

5. According to Amazon, the rebate expires 1/2/03, so with slow media mail shipping, there's a possibility that you won't get it in time.

By the way, this makes a good filler item if you qualify for the rebate and you need to add something to use a bigger coupon.

Note: I may have neglected something here, so please don't blame me if you don't get the rebate for some reason.

LBPound, that isn't exactly correct. The exact wording on the codes is "FOR FIRST TIME BUYERS."

So, you don't need a new email and new CC#. You could be the #1 seller on Half.com, and if you have never BOUGHT anything from them, you are eligible.

For those having problems with using coupons on new accounts, don't screw with deleting the cookies. Simply log out of eBay, log out of Half, and log in with new account. As soon as you log out, their cookies are no longer valid anyway. Just make sure you are logged out of both sites. They use different cookies.

Here are a few CC companies that I believe offer one-time use (a.k.a virtual) numbers:
  • Citibank
  • Discover
  • Amex - not 100% sure

One thing I like when dealing with rebates at Circuit City is that you can ask them to print out ANOTHER copy of the receipt!
