I still keep a paper notepad to keep track of various book or graphic novels series on my tobuy list. (I don't really buy individual comic issue floppies anymore).

The last time I had an extensive list written down, was back in the day when I use to read Star Trek novels. In those days, the books in the various Star Trek book series were "numbered" and easy to keep track of.
Though after many years of reading this stuff, I came to the realization a lot of it wasn't much better than medicore fan fic which was rather forgettable. I stopped reading this sort of stuff shortly after all the Trek series dropped the numbering system.
