Re: DC partners with Walmart
It came out mid-March to select Walmarts. The back cover is for Shazam hitting theaters April 5th. It was SUPPOSED to be timed with the release of Detective Comics #1000 (end of March).

One of my local Walmarts, the bigger one actually, seems to have stopped stocking the comics. I didn’t have time to search the entire store, and asking about them would likely have been pointless, but the usual spot where’s they’ve been for the past 12 months has no comics now.
Luckily, my closest store had the new stock, just a few issues of each it seemed.

I noticed much the same thing, Trevor. Visited two stores that once carried this line and everything had been removed. You wouldn't know they had ever carried the line.
I did spot some sort of Batman-related toys? that came in plastic bags.

The Batman toys are the Black and White PVC statues that are miniature size of the ones released in resin for years. Wave 2 is out now.
Same thing has happened to me. The closest WM stopped stocking new issues 2 months ago while the other WM has had every issue as of now, except for this month's releases.

Re: DC partners with Walmart
Was able to find the new DC releases in a WM on a beach town 1 hour away from where I live. They had 3 of each book, so I imagine that's approximately how many they are stocking now. Also, this particular store had the new Marvel 3 packs, with variant covers for Black Cat #1. They also had a DC 10 pack for $10 that consisted on a #1 WM Giant DC release and three old 3-pack sets from Rebirth stuff. Marvel had a similar thing that was 7 books for $10 and it consist of a loose recent book and two Marvel 3-pack sets. Basically, this is all repackage of unsold Walmart comic book stock. The DC ones were alright but the Marvel ones came all damaged. You guys may want to pass on these 10 pack/7 packs unless you want cheap stuff to read.

From a Bleeding Cool poster regarding these DC packs: "from what the guy racking them told me they had an overall 80% sell-thru across the country, so this the remaining 20%--all in all , they were quite happy with the number---new line launching soon , probably w/ even more titles (8 to 12)---and available everywhere-comic stores will have an exclusive cover , though"

Re: DC partners with Walmart
Does anyone know on when the "Exclusive" Wal-Mart comics to an end?
A friend of mine, who's a merchandiser, recently checked one of the two local Wal-Marts that participate in selling the comics, and saw that Superman, Batman #13's, and Flash, Wonder Woman, Swamp Thing, Titans #6 were available, but also warning me that literally all the newest issues were completely trashed. I am going to hope the other Wal-Mart has them in good shape, but I was honestly expecting the #12's & #5's were going to be the end of the "Exclusive" deal as I assumed the deal was probably for 1 year ....

Re: DC partners with Walmart
Thanks for the responses.
I decided several months back that my stopping point would be when the Walmart "exclusive" deal concludes. Whenever that is. I don't have a lot of interest in continuing once this line becomes readily available at both Walmart's and comic shops, but it appears as if that won't transpire for at least 3 months from now. Really has me wondering just how long of a time frame is the "exclusive" contract signed for? A year made sense, but we're going past that time frame right now.

The news stories I’ve seen don’t seem all that concrete. As far as the exclusive non-reprint stories in these books, they’re already available in trades everywhere. So sometimes I think that the stories on the non-exclusively ending are conflating with these collections. As far as these exact comics being available elsewhere, everything I’ve seen is worded vaguely enough that I’m not sure what’s up.

Re: DC partners with Walmart
Checked my two local Walmarts yesterday. Both had a decent quantity of somewhat new and old stock. One had none of the new #6/13 issues, the other had a couple each of the new guys. I’m feeling like if I don’t get there the first day or two, I may be out of luck.

I got the link. The DC 100 Page Giant Repringt will go mass market including Wal-mart and Target but will have exclusive covers at comic book stores.

Sweet! Crossing fingers that they’ll soon be all available through retailers, and that DCBS will price them at the common 50% off. My wallet can’t take much more!
