Romita got a second shot at a Sinister Six cover for the oversized Treasury Edition style book (this is how I first read that story)...

And he got to do a reverse angle for the back, too...

(The front cover is better... )

It's always a little sad for me to realize the pre-Byrne Superman disappeared and never really came back (outside of Crisis-related shenanigans).

I was fortunate enough to meet Curt Swan at a convention before he died and got this and Superman 423 autographed.

He autographed this one on the base of the monument right under "In Memoriam" and died shortly after. I'd get a little sad when looking at it but what a fitting tribute to THE Superman artist.

I could drown this thread with Jim Lee covers, but as I said before, Bart Sears is also one of my favorite artists of all time, so here goes:

I always found his how to draw articles in the old Wizard magazines very informative. Is he (Bart) working on any books right now?

He still freelances. A couple of months ago he started a successful Kickstarter campaign to publish his "Brutes & Babes" How to draw tips into a complete volume. In fact, it's volume 2, I believe. I got in on volume 1 & volume 2.

Maybe a mod could merge these 2 threads together.

One of my favorite 80s independents.

Cap and Bucky were two of my favorites. And the Hulk is thrown in for good measure! And so menacingly.

Speaking of Hulk.

Probably my favorite WWII-themed cover.

Back to Hulk. I like this one so much I found the original art for it.

That Dave Stevens Jonny Quest cover brings me back. He left us too soon, but left quite a mark considering his limited output.
