Re: Comic/Super-Hero Sheep NOW!
Ren & Stimpy was a little too late to the party since IIRC Krickfalusi had already been fired and the show was on its last few episodes. So they were milking the cash cow...
I think the Simpsons comic was the first that wasn't from Bongo? I'm not sure, but I remember it came in a plastic bag with something. I have to look at my collection.
This was still the era to buy multiple #1 issues of popular culture. Fuck you, Wizard! It's pretty much why I stopped collecting after that.

I think the Simpsons was pre-Bongo. The Ren & Stimpy were bagged with something, I don't remember what, but I think there were two variations, one bagged with Ren and the other had Stimpy.

Here's a shot of the price guide from that same issue. It looks like the Ren & Stimpy comic had come out 6 months prior and was so popular that it went to a second printing. I also highlighted the Rai prices from the same page to show how in demand they were. The green shaded prices were prices that had gone up from the previous month.

Too bad all those kids will never be able to go to college now. Hm, come to think about it, people's babies would be about college age now, eh?

My first issues of the Simpsons and Ren and Stimpy are still bagged so I have no idea what I got.
I remember a couple of the variant cover Valiant titles that were going for insane prices. It was like the original TMNT comics all over again.
Wizard, along with Beckett's, really killed collecting by over pricing so many things.

I seriously didn't even know that mj was a redhead. I just answered what I thought would be the most well known redhead.

Poison Ivy. Batgirl. Medusa.
I just chose the one with the biggest boobs and skimpiest outfit.

I would never have known who that was, if you hadn't posted it after a picture that had her name immediately above it.

BTW, it looks like we ran out of voters on the challenges, so you might as well tally up the votes and adjust the scores.
