Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

The new books Humble Bundle is rather unique - a collection of rare books and comics that Neil Gaiman was involved with. I have the printed version of some of these - nice to see it in a digital edition as well. Wasn't expecting it.

And to be more specific about the contents, the bundle includes:

Adventures in the Dream Trade
Essays, poems, lyrics, and original AMERICAN GODS blog

Gods & Tulips
Controversial 1993 speech, an essay, and a speech on comics

Free Speeches

Angels & Visitations
Some titles never before republished

An Honest Answer & Other Stories

The BTA is surprisingly high for the Neil Gaiman bundle, it's currently $17.90 and climbing... well above the $15 (usually) top tier.

New freebie at Comixology.

That Humble Bundle of Neil Gaiman miscellany is apparently breaking records in that the average price keeps rising well above the highest tier; over $19 now.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Five big new sales for the weekend; also, the weekly Submit sale hasn't rotated yet, but should soon I guess.
https://www.comixology.com/submit

Dark Horse has the Savage Sword of Conan collections on sale at Comixology until 9/13/15; 21 different collections at $6.99 each.
Savage Sword of Conan volumes 1-19 reprint in their entirety the old Marvel magazines of the same name, issues 1-201.
Robert E. Howard's Savage Sword volumes 1-2 reprint issues 1-8 of newer material of his classic characters.
https://www.comixology.com/Savage-Sw...Sale/page/8076

The Rick Remender sale is full of great Image stuff, ends 9/14/15.
https://www.comixology.com/Rick-Remender-Sale/page/8064
Black Science 1-16
vol 1 of 1-6 $4.99, vol 2 of 7-11 $5.99
Low 1-8
vol 1 of 1-6 $5.99
Strange Girl 1-18

Crawlspace Omnibus 2 is $11.99 and reprints Sea of Red and has bonus material
The Last Christmas collection is $11.99 and reprints that 5 issue series with art by Remender

The Dark Horse weekend sale should be up shortly; it might be Conan judging from the Comixology sale.
https://digital.darkhorse.com

Action Labs has their entire line at 50% off with codeword ACTION, ends 9/13/15. So it's over 250 books from 66 different series, I won't be listing them all.
https://www.comixology.com/Action-Lab-Sale/page/8114

A today only sale sale from Marvel has a bunch of New Warriors.
issues 1-12 of the 2014+ series
issues 1-17 and annuals 1-2 of the 1990+ series

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

The Dark Horse sale is in fact on Savage Sword of Conan.
However, in a strange turn of events, unlike last week where they had more items in their sale than Comixology, this week they have less. This sale does not include "Robert E. Howard's Savage Sword" Vol 1&2.

$6.99 ea
Savage Sword of Conan Vol 1-19

It's like they accidentally switched the prices on the Black Science volumes or something. Or are there a ton of extras on the second volume?

How is Black Science, btw? I finally bit on Strange Girl, which has been on sale a few times, and Low. Also tempted by Deadly Class.

I think it's just because the first volumes of Image books are usually $10 to lure in new readers, while subsequent books are usually $12-$15.

Nightworld #1 is free on the Image comics site this weekend. Seems they no longer offer the free weekly issue on Comixology as well.

Strange indeed. I thought the point was selling as much as possible.
Well, in any case, seems it worked - the bundle is almost sold out by now.

Kinda sucks again that I can't post URLs, but seems DriveThruComics is offering the RAINN comic bundle for $20. Not sure how well it's worth it, especially considering they don't offer all DRM-free formats, but at least it's for a good cause.

Sweet, the SPX sale has started! 50% off all Submit books until 9/21/15.
The Small Press Expo is this weekend and local to me; I'm considering going.

Edit to add: Let me fix that funky link, stupid iPhone.

The SPX celebration has begun. Lots of new freebies in the new release Submit page; and a new sale with 50% off 107 select books with code SPX.

Unfortunately the SPX sale is only on "select" comics; that would have been epic otherwise.

Well, booger. But did you try it with others? Sometimes those codes appear to only work on select things but actually work with everything.

I did frantically start searching for other items the code might apply too; unfortunately while it is plausible there are stealth titles not on the promo page none of the unlisted series/issues I checked were discounted.

yeah, I checked a few Submit books too. Oh well.

Also, a bunch of new Submit books are free. Part of the SPX celebration I'm sure.

Seems all the #1's of "Double Take" - Bill Jemas' new company, are offered for free. Kinda glad now I didn't opt for that Kickstarter.

Slightly off topic but there is an upcoming RPG video game based on Joe Madureira's fantasy action Battlechasers series along with upcoming new issues.

Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...asers-nightwar
Comixology page: https://www.comixology.com/Battle-Ch...cs-series/6487 (strangely Comixology already has it tagged as 'video games.')

I dunno, Joe Mad + Kickstarter = will this even come out in the current generation of consoles? :)
