Well, the logo is new, but I thought the Comixology/Amazon relationship was known. It's been at least 2 months now that Comixology has been advertising employment positions through the Amazon company hiring site.

It was a big deal when it was first announced that Amazon was buying them a while ago. Then they took away the ability to purchase via the apple main app, added amazon as a payment method, and did some other things. So this integration was long overdue. It's also why the Dark Horse integration probably won't happen unless Amazon purchases them too. Not to mention all your DH Star Wars stuff wouldn't make the trip over.

The merger is old news. What is new is the merging of accounts.

I guess it's just going one way for now, with Kindle purchases showing up instantly in your Comixology account, but perhaps one day it'll go the reverse way too.

Well, the merge didn't work and now my Comixology account shows I own two books.

EDIT It worked on the second try.

Thanks for the info. Do you know how this affects the syncing of Comixology with the Marvel app?

That still works fine. I mean, my existing sync held valid, and I've bought stuff on the Marvel app since, and it all works. I'm not guaranteeing that a new or unsynced-to-Marvel customer will still have it work, but I imagine it's all good and this Amazon merger has no effect on that.

So - when you buy a Kindle book an Amazon, it appears under your Comixology account?
Is it available in Kindle format only, or Comixology as well, including DRM-free?

It will be in your kindle account and also in your Comixology account. No clue about DRM, that's a nonsense thing.

DRM-free books in Comixology appear under the "My Backups" tab. Since I purchase only DRM-free books, not really nonsense for me.

I love being able to back up all my Image titles. I wish IDW and Boom offered back ups too.

New sale from Boom on Mark Waid's Irredeemable and Incorruptible. The three omnibi seem to be a better deal than the collections or the $.99 singles. Sale ends 12/10/15.
https://www.comixology.com/Irredeema...Sale/page/9030

Just noticed this bundle on DC's Arrow and Flash books. Not sure if this high discount will stick forever, and will slide back to ~10-30% like many bundles do.

Justice League collection sale until 12/14/15.

With the merging of the Amazon/ComiXology accounts, I've noticed that there are some collections significantly cheaper through Kindle. I wonder if those will transfer over to the CMX app?

From Comixology:

"Free Comic Alert! 12 Days of Free Comics starts tomorrow, that's right, one TOTALLY FREE digital comic book every single day from 12/9 to 12/20. Gotta Get 'Em All!"

Yep, as posted just above. I've already bought several ~$2 collections.

I see there is a dark side to the Amazon/Comixology merger, at least for me : "Paypal is not currently a supported payment method for comixology.com customers for merged accounts.", which forces me to switch to Amazon payments.

The first issue of the 2014 She-Hulk run is free on Comixology. I can't remember if that's been free before or not, but I didn't have it.

Twelve Days of Christmas Freebies has started at Comixology. Day One has has the new Secret Wars #1. Rotates each day at noon.
https://www.comixology.com/Secret-Wars/page/8981

Shonen Sunday sale, ends 12/10/15, 194 books at $4.99 each.
https://www.comixology.com/comics-sa...id=9313&lang=1

Other new freebies at Comixology.
https://www.comixology.com/Star-Wars...l-comic/314652
https://www.comixology.com/Free-Comi...l-comic/310277

Stuff has been a little wonky at Comixology the last few days, all related to the Kindle merge no doubt, and some purchases from other avenues (DC app, Marvel app, Kindle, etc) aren't showing up in your Comixology account right away.

I think that's just part of the monthly rotation of four free Marvels. It's why I hit 'add all' on the free comic screen once every couple weeks. They often hide other freebies in those pages.

So, about the kindle books...

Does the listing on Amazon have to specifically mention Comixology for them to carry over, or do all Kindle comics do so?

I was looking at the new companion comic for the movie Krampus. It's $6 cheaper on Amazon, but the page for it has no mention at all of being able to read it on Comixology, while pretty much every other comic page I have looked at does.

I'm debating on if I should take a $9 gamble to see if it works.

I would check to make sure it was on Comixology first. But if the same book (sometimes the page count or details differ slightly) is on both, I think you're safe.

And in any case, Amazon customer support is top notch and you'd be able to return it I'm sure.

I dunno if it's a typo or something, but the comixology version is apparently 1 page longer.

I'm gonna go for it, and if it doesn't work I'll just ask for a refund on the book. Amazon has a return window on Kindle books right after purchase, so I should be okay.

EDIT: How long does it usually take them to show up? Because there's nothing so far.

It is usually instant, but remember what I posted a bit ago, everything is wonky at Comixology right now.
