Alterna Comics sale until 4/5/15; 50% off 180+ books with code ALTERNA. Most of their titles come with free preview books, so you can download those and check them out before purchase. Some very good titles iirc.

Some new French language titles on sale in the regular sale page.
https://www.comixology.com/comics-sale

A sale on a bunch of Executive Assistant from Aspen, ends 4/6/15, 8 collections and 50 singles, a couple of the #1s are free.

There is another Marvel sale today, on Daredevil.

There is also "Daredevil by Bendis" bundle that includes his DD run and the mini (63 issues) for $59.99
NOTE: Issues #51-55 are not in the bundle, as David Mack wrote/illustrated those. They are part of the 99 cent sale though. So if you want those, you'll have to pick them up separately.

Every now and then I forget to check this thread for a couple of days and then I come back to it in a blind panic that I might've missed the Fables or Sandman sale. Still nope.

Anyone have any opinions on this stuff? I've read a little bit of the Gail Simone Red Sonja, but that's about it.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Two more issues were added to that weird Marvel "True Believers" Sale, which was just two #1 issues picked seemingly at random for no reason (Marvel Zombies #1 & X-Men Alpha #1)

Joining the two above mentioned issues, at 99 cents each, are:
Civil War #1
Incredible Hulk (1999-2008) #92 (The first issue of the Planet Hulk Arc)

https://www.comixology.com/Marvel-Tr...Sale/list/6134

It looks to me like the sale is actually shaping up to be the first issues of story arcs that are going to be a part of the Secret Wars event. I remember Zombies, Age of Apocalypse and Civil War all being mentioned as stories that would all be part of that event.
They'll probably add more issues in the next few weeks, leading up to Secret Wars.

Still an odd sale. I could understand a sale on a series but on the first issue of each?

I bit on the avengers masterworks bundles earlier this week though.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Trevor, thanks for keeping us up to date on the Dark Horse sales, I oftentimes forget to check if DH has a sale running. I was able to avoid buying the next Tomb Raider TPB, and the Ladykiller TPB by grabbing the books digitally. I buy too many TPBs/HCs that I have no time to read...making more of an effort to go digital, so I do not have to struggle to get through a jillion tpbs before selling them on eBay (and I definitely need to sell them...I have to make my hobby help pay for itself, otherwise, I may just have to go cold turkey and stop buying a ton of titles at once, which would make instocktrades break out in tears, no seriously, they would cry).

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

You're welcome, and thanks to Bob and Undeadcow and others for picking up my slack on sales lately.

On Dark Horse, I'm almost to the point where I'm going to ignore all sales that are only 50% off. They seem to bundle all runs into a discount, so then the annual 50% plus 10% sale will probably always be the best time to stock up on their books.

I read the first GOT hardback and liked it but haven't gotten any others. Not sure why--maybe because it was a slim hardback and it seemed better suited to a cheaper TPB.

I've read scattered bits of Dynamite's Red Sonja and liked it fine, but damn if it doesn't all run together. I used to buy random scratch-and-dent trades or stuff on sale, but I finally had to stop because I wasn't reading them.

I kinda think I might have read the Jungle Girl but don't remember. I usually pick up Frank Cho drawing scantily clad women.

Marvel Monday is a bunch of Frank Miller Daredevil books. Fantastic stuff; if I owned only one run of Marvel books it'd be this one.

Daredevil by Frank Miller and Klaus Janson Vol. 1
Collects Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man #27-28, and Daredevil #158-161 and #163-172.

seems like a good deal at $4.99 but why should I care about this?
I vaguly remember reading/owning some of these as a kid but Miller's artwork on these still looks crude to me .... was it the storytelling?

Um, you should care because it's Frank Miller Daredevil. This is very early in his career and I guess the artwork is a little rough around the edges (I certainly wouldn't call it crude), but these are some of the greatest Daredevil stories ever written. Vol. 2 is when it gets really good and I think his later run with David Mazzucchelli is even better, but these are still essential. Anyone with even a passing interest in the character should pony up the $4.99 for these. It's a steal.

BitTorrent is apparently doing bundles now. This one starts at $6 and seems to have most of the same stuff from Humble Bundle and Groupees

Holy moley, I'm avoiding this one; even if it has enough non-duplication to make it a great deal.

I already have Dynamite books on Dark Horse, Comixology, Humble, and Groupees; so it's hard enough to keep track of what I own.

Yeah, I posted the links just above your post.

I don't have the desire at the moment to go thru and compare everything in the Humble Bundles and Groupees and bundle and see what is new to this BitTorrent/Comixology bundle.

For $6.99 I'm almost at the "screw it and just buy it to have everything in one place" mood; but I really hate paying for the same stuff potentially 6 times.
  1. on Comixology earlier
  2. on Dark Horse earlier
  3. in one of the several Dynamite Humble Bundles
  4. in the Groupees bundle
  5. in the BitTorrent bundle
  6. in these Comixology bundles
Edit to add: 7 - StoryBundle
