Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

New Humble Bundle is (mostly) new Archie stuff. Some great books in those horror titles, and have been meaning to try the Waid reboot, so I'm in.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

I ordered some backordered adjustable skates for my kid with Prime and got the following message:

"Thank you for your Amazon.com purchase. You are qualified to select a FREE digital graphic novel from a selection of popular Star Wars titles, including "Vader Down," "Poe Dameron," "The Thrawn Trilogy," and more on Kindle."

Not sure on titles or how the promo is triggered.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

With the Marvel Star Wars collection it's confusing because there's so much overlap between the Omnibus collections (which originated with Dark Horse) and the newer 'Epic Collections' because they each include so many of the same issues. I have all the stuff on Dark Horse but have slowly been collecting some of the better stuff on Comixology because I'm a sucker.

Yeah, I have a bunch of DH omniboo but have been picking up the Epics digitally. I've been tempted to get some of the DH because I know what I'm getting, but I don't want to split the stuff again.

Pulled the trigger on the Archie Humble Bundle with like an hour to spare. I'd rather have it in Comixology, but even if I just read some, it's still a good deal, and it's partly for charity.

The main freebie page has cycled the four Marvel selections, and lots of new freebies at the other freebie page up there in the wiki.

Also, Comixology just put Marley's Ghost on an introductory sale. It's a graphic novel started but not finished by the late great Harvey Kurtzman.

^ Interesting story on how the project came together.

Also, same $2.99 price at Amazon with Comixology crossover.

I went ahead and picked up the ones I don't have, which luckily was nearly all of them. I have Princess Leia in singles, and I skipped the TFA adaptation. I've always been intrigued by the manga adaptations so I picked up the first volume of ANH and skimmed it. It's a black-and-white, nearly line-for-line presentation of episode IV with manga-style art. Interesting, but I really don't think I'd read it.

Comixology has many of those in special bundles for today only (looks like some overlap):

https://www.comixology.com/Star-Wars...ars_Sale_Email

I'm probably in for 9.99 for the manga books.

Just make sure you know what you're getting with the manga books... for the original trilogy, the covers are done by Adam Warren but the insides are different.

The Legends bundle seems like a particularly good deal with two Epics, five DH omniboo, and bunch of other stuff. I already own a lot of them, of course.

$5 eBook credit on Amazon for 'eligible accounts' (turns out I'm not eligible but maybe some here are?):

https://www.amazon.com/kindle-dbs/pr...f-b2fa72baf31c

Also Amazon has a 'Digital Day' sale on December 29th (some sales starting as early as December 26th) to include: "Save up to 80% off best-selling Marvel graphic novels like Civil War II, House of M, World War Hulk, and Star Wars"

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Got a pretty good deal on Jack Kirby's 4th World Ominbus at bn.com. First I shopped through swagbucks shopping portal for which gives 8 SB per $1. Used my 30% off coupon to bring the total down to $72 plus nearly 6 bucks cashback in swagbucks. Well worth the price as this tome is over 1500 pages!

Some of the DC $4.99 prices are being mirrored at Amazon but some (probably the higher-priced volumes) are showing as $7.76. I guess I'll be splitting my purchases again.

Great-looking book, but the size concerns me for readability. I'll probably stick with the four-volume version I picked up a few years ago. I know some people don't like the paper but it was good enough for me.

I haven't recovered from their last few sales... guess I'll see what's new. Comixology is going to go under before I get through my backlog, at this point.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Great 55% off sale on all IDW and Top Shelf books. Too much to recommend, but everyone should take a look at the series, Motorcycle Samurai. There are 4 freebies in there. Read a couple and see if it floats your boat, then the remaining are cheap with this sale (code IDW).
https://discountcomicbookservice.com...s-series/11412

Also, there were like 30 more freebies stealthily added to the November 7th releases. Mostly manga sorta issue ones.

I think a lot of these same freebies can be found in the 'Media Do Manga Sale' through 1/2/18 on pages 3-5 (of full sale view).

Amazon has a number of Marvel digital trades for 80%+ off again. Likely this is part of their 'digital day,' at a glance it seems like releases newer than a month old are excluded.

Is it just me, or is all Serenity gone from comiXology? I know I bought some earlier this year.
