Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

I'm confused by DC's $1.99 "sale" pricing on 2010-2012 Batman Odyssey (in the Neal Adams promo), there is a collected edition of Odyssey (13 issues, both series) that goes for $19.99 at full price (~$1.40/issue)... I'd be curious to know what goes into DC's logic in refusing to discount a 4 year old series lower than $1.99 [similarly many Darkest Night era 2011ish books are $1.99 but some remain at $2.99 seemingly at random].

I'm glad I checked to see if there was a collected edition. I was ready to pull the trigger on the Odyssey singles. I was going to post it, but you beat me to it.

Yeah, I'll wait until the next B1G1 sale and get the Odyssey collection then.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

The rumored Neal Adams sale finally went live; its DC's weekly sale ending 2/28/16. Be warned that some of these 54 singles are not a full 50% off, and some are only connected to Adams because he drew the covers.
https://www.comixology.com/Neal-Adams-Sale/page/9746

From Boom, a Lumberjanes sale until 2/25/16. If you bought the Boom Humble Bundle you already own issues 1-4.

If Rachel Rising is anywhere near as good as Strangers in Paradise I'm all in.

Wish the Boom was a line wide sale. There are 9 series I really like and not one of them is in this sale.

Doubtful it's SiP good, but should still be a good read. Note only that the series will end with issue 42, which is not yet available, so it's not the full series that's being offered at the moment.

That's the only reason I don't buy their books. Tried writing them on the matter several times and got ignored.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Happy Leap Day everyone! My favorite day of the yea... er....hmmmm. Lots of sales at Comixology end tonight, and since Leap Day is an extra free day, any money you spend today is magically back in your account tomorrow.

Today only from DC, to celebrate his birthday, ten Superman collections are on sale for $6.99 each.
https://www.comixology.com/Supermans...Sale/page/9871

Also today only, from Marvel, the first 99 issues of the original Daredevil run are $.99 each, no bundle this time apparently.
https://www.comixology.com/Classic-D...Sale/page/9886

Comixology has a Brian Michael Bendis collection sale until 3/13/16; 14 collections from different publishers at $3.99 each, up to 80% off.
https://www.comixology.com/Bendis-Co...Sale/page/9884

From Dynamite, so beware of bundling and/or Dark Horse duplication, a big horror and sci-fi sale until 3/4/16.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

I am tempted by the lukewarm 'deal' on some of the Superman books but there is no way DC will see the blockbuster release of Batman v Superman this coming month without throwing a ton of likely better discounted Superman and Batman sales at us.

...About to cave and buy the GI Joe bundle at the 11th hour; wasn't ever a big GI Joe fan but it looks like a pleasant mix of campy and action with more continuity and depth than expected.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

It looks like Dark Horse is finally back in the game, with a new freebie and a sale that isn't at Comixology yet.

The sale is on a bunch (all?) of their great Predator books. Thirty nine items, but some of those are collections/bundles/omnibi. It includes the recent Archie vs Predator.
https://digital.darkhorse.com/genre/255/

The Machines #1 is temporarily free; remember that you have to "read" it for it to be added to your account.
https://digital.darkhorse.com/profil...he-machines-1/

Sale from Delcourt until on six of their collections at two-thirds off, $1.99 each, volumes 1&2 of Husk, What if?, and Wunderwaffen. All look interesting, has anyone read any of them?
https://www.comixology.com/Delcourt-...Sale/page/9895

The March sale from Jet City is three items that I believe have been on sale before.
https://www.comixology.com/comics-sale

New freebie from Alterna.
https://www.comixology.com/Alterna-A...l-comic/340111

And IDW has a Strange Tales and Deviations sale all month long, 20 collections at 40-70% off. There are a couple Top Shelf collections in there. Are Top Shelf and IDW one?

Doesn't look like you missed much. I preordered it for $1, and a few of the titles have some good buzz.
