These New Avengers face down a prison break, the secrets of the Sentry, the menace of the multi-powered Collective and more – and even find time to celebrate the marriage of one of their own. But when a terrible tragedy kicks off a superhuman Civil War, will the newly created team be irrevocably shattered? Collecting AVENGERS (1963) #500-503, AVENGERS FINALE, NEW AVENGERS (2005) #1-31 and ANNUAL #1, NEW AVENGERS AND THE FANTASTIC FOUR #1, GIANT-SIZE SPIDER-WOMAN #1, NEW AVENGERS: ILLUMINATI (2006) #1, CIVIL WAR: THE CONFESSION #1, CIVIL WAR: THE INITIATIVE #1 and NEW AVENGERS MOST WANTED FILES #1.

No Marvel Zombies Vs. Army Of Darkness?

After I read Marvel Zombies 3 and hated it, I never read any zombie stuff than came after that. Were any of the other releases after it worth reading?

I already have copies of 1, 2, vs. AOD, Dead Days, & the Covers releases.

Re: Marvel Omnibuses you'd like to see

I just picked up IRON MAN Vol. 2 for $44.00 and then because they packed it in a flimsy envelope that the post office shredded in half, the seller I purchased it from refunded my money including shipping. And they said I didn't have to ship the book back. The DJ was creased, but the book itself was ok.

IRON MAN is my favorite Marvel character, but I've never read any of these stories. Are they good? I loved Volume 1 which cost me $60.00.

Why would you ask for a refund when just the dust jacket was creased?

I didn't ask for a refund, I asked for a replacement copy. I wasn't going to spend $44 for a book damaged by a seller's poor packing. They offered the refund.

Move fast if you want this price for Spider-man Omnibus Vol 2 from Amazon - $52.07

Unfortunately it isn't the version with the original cover but for a little over 50 bucks, I can live with it.

Re: Marvel Omnibuses you'd like to see

Just curious if anyone here has The Untold Tales Of Spider-Man omnibus?

Is it any good? I tend to prefer the old teenage Stan Lee tales over anything else and this sounded interesting. Just wanting an opinion.

Re: Marvel Omnibuses you'd like to see

Just got in the Byrne Fantastic Four Omni. Ordered it from B&N.com using a 20% coupon and it came to $53 (+tax). I was going to pass on this material, but that's a better deal than I could even find used at a Half Price Books. To my surprise, and delight, the box came in very well packed for a change. Lots of kraft paper cushioning it on all sides.

A nice contrast to the Aparo/Tales Of The Dark Knight copy I got in a day earlier, also from B&N. That one was slapped in a simple cardboard mailer and ended up with a nice bruised corner affecting the whole book. Even using a coupon on that one too, the deal wasn't good enough to put up with the damage, so I took it back.

I don't have the omnibus, but I loved the entire Untold Tales of Spider-man series and have them all in floppy form. If you like and remember the older stories, this is great (though I think you can probably find the issues for much less than the omnibus... haven't checked myself)

And of course they wouldn't price match themselves - I guess it doesn't pay to pre-order. So I re-ordered and will return the other one I haven't even opened yet.

Don't you have to pay return shipping if it's 'your mistake'?
What was the pre-order price on this?

Yes, but she was the one who made the suggestion of returning/rebuying, so she said Amazon would cover it "this one time". How this is easier than just giving me back $10-$11, I don't know, but whatever.

Re: Marvel Omnibuses you'd like to see

Follow-up to my Spider return/rebuy at Amazon. I did the return and they refunded me the shipping but deducted a $31 "restocking fee". I jumped into a live chat with them faster than you could say "bullllllshit". The dude kept trying to say that was the policy since I had picked "no longer wanted" on the return, I told them "all I wanted was a price adjustment, the Amazon rep was the one who initiated this ridiculous return/re-buy process with no mention of a restocking fee - do you really think I'd do all of this for $11 knowing that I'd then lose $31???". So they went and found my chat with her and found that it was all on her, and they would give me a full refund, once again: "this one time".

A simple "no, you can't do a price adjustment - end of story" in the beginning would have saved me a lot of wasted time, much more than $11 worth

First I had heard of it. He claimed it was because the return reason was listed as "no longer wanted", which is what the first rep had chosen for a reason. My initial refund receipt listed it as:

Restocking Fee Refund Deduction: ($31.50)

Re: Marvel Omnibuses you'd like to see

If you have Prime, then I would guess the 'restocking fee' is actually just two way shipping. 2nd day, for something that heavy would likely run about $15- one way. I'm also guessing you used the shipping tag they provided, rather than pay the return shipping yourself.
That's only supposed to be no charge to you when the item was either damaged/compromised/ or the wrong thing.

That's why I was initially suspicious of how easy this whole process went. It will have to be either a really good or else something I just can't find reasonably elsewhere for me to go with a 'collectible' book from Amazon, knowing how often I've had to return these things in the past for various reasons.

I just used a 20% off coupon at B&N for the Avengers Omni- but for the majority of my GN/Omni/Comic strip book purchases, I'm now using CheapGraphicNovels. In fact, I plan to get off another large order later tonight for various stuff.

Re: Marvel Omnibuses you'd like to see

I had been using Amazon last year because of their knack for posting Omni's super-early, usually with the incorrect MSRP (as often pointed out in this thread). Plus, I liked not having to cough up the money so far in advance, as is the case with DCBS. But Amazon seems to have learned from their mistakes recently, not as many accidental bargains. Maybe now all future buys will be at CGN, as you said. They've treated me right in the past.

Re: Marvel Omnibuses you'd like to see

I almost feel bad ordering from CGN because I usually end up getting packages that cost over $10 for them to ship. They can't be making much given their discounts, and I KNOW it's costing them to pack things as well as they do. They are easily worth the slight premium over Amazon to me (even when I have Prime).
In fact, they remind me a lot of Deep Discount back in their prime. I don;t know how long they'll be able to keep it up, but I know I'll be using them as much as I can.

As far as the other big e-tailers go- I've had good experiences with tfaw, but was disappointed with TOW. CGN has been the best so far, so their getting most of my attention from here on out.
