They do. Some people probably have problems with it, but I'll accept it for the many great deals I get on everything else.

Re: Marvel Omnibuses you'd like to see

When a back-issue floppy that was $1.50, cover-price goes up to $3, it doesn't seem like too big a deal. But when a $100 OoP book goes up to $200, it seems like highway robbery.

It sounds like it will be gorgeous. They are even doing the poster issue (where you could separate the pages and lay them out into a single giant 32-page long sequence) as a fold-out. This book will be huge, but amazing. It was originally due next month; it got delayed, but it is still in the pipeline as far as I know. MSRP $125, but you'll be able to get it cheaper via the usual sources.

That's not the "poster issue" (which was the final issue of the series, #32) in the BC article; that's issue #12, the one that where all of the pages form one big, continuous panel. I don't think they've said how they'll handle #32. And I'm still kicking myself for not buying the actual poster versions of the issue back when they were available.

I do plan on getting the Immateria edition, though I am concerned about the production quality. If it's going to contain a lot of fold-outs (and one of them being SIXTEEN FEET long!) I fear that a lot of defects might creep into the books when they're being printed. I've already had a couple of Absolutes with defects... a creased corner of the inside flap of a dust jacket, improperly cut pages, etc. I kind of feel like a dick sending them back and getting replacements, but the fucking things are expensive and there's really no excuse for a carelessly put together $100 book.

And, honestly, how the fuck are we supposed to read the book? A sixteen foot long fold out? Really?

Uncanny X-Men #132-159 + Annual #4-5
+ Bizarre Adventures #27
+ Phoenix: The Untold Story #1
+ Avengers Annual #10

Now, I really wish they would collect the first 4 trades of Classic New Mutants into an Omnibus which would include:

Uncanny X-Men #167
Marvel Graphic Novel #4
New Mutants #1-34 and Annual #1

This takes them right up to the Asgardian Wars.

You weren't kidding, even amazon marketplace has atlantis attacks and evolutionary war for about 30 bucks with shipping included...

but I don't remember either annual storyline being worthy of such a massive collection, which is probably why nobody wants it...

Punisher for me
I called it! I had a feeling an Uncanny X-Men Vol. 2 was coming soon.

Roger Stern's Spidey is a welcome bonus, though. That's the Spidey I grew up on. Hell, I have most of those issues bagged and boarded and I will still be buying it!

Yeah, but you can never tell. It's a hard gamble. For every one that goes cheap later on, three more go out of print and rocket in value.

Release day is a good time to purchase omnibi. You can find them for 50% off at Cheap Graphic Novels and In Stock Trades. And while you can't be sure it'll happen Black Friday is usually a good time to find omnibi at great prices.

Re: Marvel Omnibuses you'd like to see

Here's a nice, concise list of all the Omnibuses that have been released and are coming soon and what they contain.

I like that he breaks down the prices per-page and per-issue (based on retail) for each book.

That's a great link for reference, thanks.

I think I might have missed an oversized hardcover around the 500s, but im not sure, it seems like most of use are really just concerned about the pre-300 issues…I also don’t really count the Secret Wars Omnibus, because that is one I never picked up, so I still don’t have those issues collected. Looking at these, I am surprised there hasn’t been a new oversized collection of Days of Future past or present. Also missing are annuals 4-11 (12 was in the Evolutionary War Omnibus) and 14- 21….but that isn’t a big deal at this point either, I would actually prefer them included in the Omnis that they belong in, like the Evolutionary was and Atlantis attacks.

I haven't been buying omnibuses (omnibi?) in the last year or so, because my toddler has been keeping me busy, I ran out of room, and most of my comics are digital now, but I will probably pick up the Uncanny X-men 2 just because I'm a completest.

I added it to the list quoted above. it looks like there is room for an Uncanny X-men Omnibus #3 before they get to the few issues in the Wolverine Omnibus and then probable Omnibus #4 and #5 to cover the issues already included in the wolverine Omnibus / Secret Wars 2 Omnibus up to the mutant massacre. Even after that there are the few issues between the Mutant Massacre omnibus and Fall of the mutants and the few issues between Fall of the Mutants and Extinction Agenda.
