Bump for those who are thinking of getting hotel rooms during Con.
It might not amount to much, or even be a factor, but starting on Saturday July 28 (the height of Comic-Con) the city will also be overrun with American Idol contestants. The San Diego tryouts start that day (wristbands handed out Sat/Sun, competition on Mon), so there's a chance there will be thousands of out-of-towners that will need hotels.
Anyway, just thought I'd put the info out for planning purposes.

I ended up getting a room at the Marriot Courtyard near my friend on the North side of town. Since I was there in October he has moved a girl in with him. They need their privacy in that one bedroom.

Comic-Con website has a sneak preview of the programming. Here's a link.
Interesting find for Thursday, Hall H (btw, they've never scheduled Hall H on a Thurs). Very interesting stuff... except for "Hot Rod"
1:30-3:30 Paramount Pictures—Paramount Pictures, DreamWorks Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies present a bold new vision for the future of adventure. Join us for a one-of-a-kind presentation put together just for the fans at Comic-Con as we look at such highly-anticipated films as Beowulf, The Spiderwick Chronicles, Stardust, Hot Rod, Iron Man, and the next installments of Indiana Jones and Star Trek, plus a few surprises. Appearing in person: JJ Abrams, Robert Downey Jr., Jon Favreau, Neil Gaiman, Roger Avary and SNL's Andy Samberg. Hall H

Interesting.. I wonder how they will "look at" the new Star Trek since it hasn't even been cast yet and no final approval given on the shooting script? But since JJ Abrams will be there I am sure he will has drop some new secret tidbits. I know they wanted Matt Damon to play Kirk..

I registered my pro stuff and got an immediate confirmation. Did he try to pre-reg after the deadline?
I'll be staying at Hotel Circle once again and driving into the convention center. So are we still doing the Hooters thing on Wed?
Shit, I also noticed more exclusives to try and flip on eBay.
Damn!

Sometimes a relaxing stay at a hotel is better than an uncomfortable couch anyway.

Yes, that is just a sneak preview. I think (hope) that the full schedule will be out within the week. Once the programming schedule and the autograph schedule is put up, that's when I create my itinerary... which is always tough because there is always something cool that you have to miss due to something cooler going on at the same time.
