You can give it a shot and try to organize a meet. I'd say Thur or Sunday are the best days because there's less going on. But then Thursday is starting to have decent programming. One of the better places to meet up would be upstairs in front of one of the rooms near Ballroom 20. A lot less crowded and quieter.

Anywho, those are my thoughts.

BUT...not NEARLY as cool as a beer at Hooters, baby!

Oh, and another strong appeal of the convention; booth babes!

The list has a couple of things that are worth flipping or at the very least will be easy to flip.

How about a meet up at a restaurant around the area after 8pm on Thursday.

That's always a possibility... especially if I have time to run to the house to drop off the day's booty and take a quick shower. We can see what the programming looks like. Of course, the tough part is picking a place to meet. LOTS of places in the Gaslamp Quarter.

Glad to have helped out. It almost became a mission to me. Lucky for you, I finally prevailed!

If you're going to hit a restaurant in the gaslamp district at the san diego con you can do much better than hooters. Try "Dicks Last Resort" closer to the con. Not only can you fight with your server but you can take a naked girly matchbook on the way out. Or seek out the small italian place right across the street from the Borders bookstore (near the Movie theater). Not only is it good food but you can sit at the "disembodied pope's head" table (round table w/ the pope's head in a tank ala Futurama). I got stuck at the Sinatra table last time.

The Hooters thing is before Preview Night on Weds. It's just a place to hang out, have some wings/beer and relax... and it's become a tradition so you can't talk us out of it

MBoyd was talking about meeting up Thurs night after Con. That venue is still up in the air.

I think I have been to that Hooters. I probably wont fly in until Wednesday. Typically my buddy picks me up and we go straight to preview night. Maybe I will get in early and get to Hooters.

Never been to Dicks. We have one in Dallas. Even a bar or something would be cool.

I was going to go, but bought tickets to Rush without checking the date and it's right during the convention. Oh well, maybe next year.

Woah! That was 2006? I thought he no showed the whole thing! Did he just no show HIS panels? What is the "last panel of the day"? For what show/event? I know he no showed the main panel he was supposed to be at. "stuck in traffic". And there were a ton of disappointed people walking around.

It's more fun watching all the nerds who've never had a date make a mad dash and scramble to hoard the booth to get a boobie shot with their video cameras.

A few pages from a comic I did a few years ago for my friend's birthday - a "what if" tale of the two of us in the distant future ...
