Yeah, I even said "Meh" when I read it at the LCS. I was reminded of that Indian chief shedding a tear when he saw people pollute/trash his former land.

So apparently I'm not the only one that feels like he got royally buggered by Marvel with the end of Civil War.
So who's the hero that's supposed to die for the "fallen son" storyline? Place your bets as to how long he'll actually stay dead.
I can't believe how many books I've been dropping. I feel like shit for doing it, though. Marvel / DC won't give a shit. The only person that will suffer is the owner of my local comic store.

Wow, what a complete load of crap. I am so pissed with the whole Civil War fiasco I am ready to quit comics. If my LCS thinks I am going to keep buying all the post CW garbage they are sorely mistaken. Marvel has really sunk to a new low this time....C'mon Marvel raise your prices one more time....I dare you to do it!

I've not read a word of a Civil War comic but I did breeze through an article in Wizard magazine while waiting for my wife in Target and it raised some questions:
Isn't the whole premise of the story just the Mutant Registration Act all over again?
Captain America sides against the government because he embodies America's rebelious spirit? There was some quote from Millar how everyone was content with the king till the Americans rebelled. I always throught of Cap as a soldier. Tell him what to do and he does it. Give him orderes and off he goes to execute them.
Spider-Man sides with Iron Man on the pro-registration side. Reveals his identity in support of registration. Gets iron-spidey armor. Life goes to hell. Switches sides. Does any long term planning go into these story lines? I'm all for giving comics a kick in the pants but theres certain things you don't do.

Well from the sound of things, I am certainly glad I jumped off before this Civil War mess began. Actually I guess I started dropping books around House of M...

Worst. Ending. EVER.
Actually, it didn't even end - it may as well have been issue #7 out of a 12-issue series. You don't end a mini-series with a fucking unresolved ending - sure "The Civil War" might be over, but there was no real resolution. I feel like a sucker.
Nice art though...

Don't forget Robot-Thor - he got his face bashed in good - that was a nice one-page panel, which goes to show that this was more about the art and "cool action" than anything else, like story or character.

Planet X because of the great, titanic storyline that wasn't reflected in any other book. Not even in the X-books.
Avengers Disassembled because it was such a localized Avengers story that somehow found it's way into every single Marvel book for months.

So is World War Hulk going to save the Marvel Universe and put it all back together again? I mean, this post-CW can't stay long, right? Maybe the heroes will band together to defeat Hulk, which will put everything back to normal.

Of course we all know that whomever this "greatest hero" is, he'll be back and running around in a year at most.

I got to the end of CW#7 and had to check the cover again and make sure I wasn't reading a badly written copy of "What if?" (as in "What if Civil War had a really shitty ending?")

I was extremely underwhelmed with the Civil War mini as a whole. It started out well with the first 2 issues, then basically became The Ultimates. I can't think of a single plot twist that actually surprised me, not even the ending. As soon as I saw everyone fighting in NY and basically wrecking everything in sight, I had the ending figured out.
After finishing this mini, I realize why I have dropped so many Marvel titles over the past 2 years to the point where I read only 2 of their monthly titles now - Astonishing X-Men and Captain America. I'm tired of the constant delays, and the subpar plots, and the big crossover events where you have to buy 30+ issues just to get the whole story. I do not plan to read World War Hulk now basically for that reason. I enjoyed Planet Hulk overall, but I'm incredibly tired of the constant crossover events that Marvel has had going for, what, 4 years now?
