I received a shipping notice from DCBS yesterday. First time that's ever happened on a Monday (and a pretty big shipment to boot).
Not that I'm complaining, of course.

This looks to be a HUGE week for me, what with 52, All Star Superman, Ex Machina, Astonishing X-Men, Captain America, Ultimates 2, and the Eternals mini starting. And here I am thinking that I've cut way back on my reading!

Not too big a week for me. I'm gonna get Flash, Seven Soldiers, and MAYBE Eternals. I may be dropping 52. Depends on how I feel when I'm at the store.
On another note, anyone going to Herocon at the end of the month?

I liked Astonishing X-Men (though Joss seems adamant about a girl saving the day), All-Star Superman was trippy (just has this different vibe about it from anything else I typically read nowadays), 52 #7 was okay (finally moving on Montoya and that certain rich lady, Booster is looking more and more faux than friend).

Anyway, it seems more to me that...

I'll be getting all six issues of course, but I hope that was just first issue set-up and it really takes off next issue.

I have some Marvel questions. I don't need long answers so hopefully that will get me some answers. Forgive me if some of this is being answered in current storylines or common marvel knowledge.
1. Who's THE most powerful mutant on Earth?
2. Is "Sinister" currently considered the oldest mutant? I think I read that he is or that he's considered the first documented mutant.
3. Does Magneto's powers have any affect on Colossus' Bio-metal body?
4. While I think it was addressed it the cartoon series years ago but why isn't Spider-Man considered a mutant? I'm sure he doesn't have the X chromosome but I would guess the bites mutated his DNA.

2. Apocalypse is the oldest mutant. He created Sinister.
3. Yes. In fact, he nearly killed him on several occaisions.
4. Yes and no and maybe - the answer is still up in the air. Recently Marvel revealed that there are actually two categories of mutants - Genetic Mutants, and Induced Mutants. Genetic Mutants are born with a specific active X-gene and they're usually triggered during puberty (with some notable exceptions, such as Nightcrawler). Induced Mutants are mutants who have a dormant X-gene and face a life-threatening event that would normally kill a human but triggers their X-gene, shaping their powers around the trigger. Examples are Spider-man - no one's been able to duplicate his powers using the same event. Captain America also fit into this category - the Super Soldier serum worked only for him. However, given recent events, such as House of M, this concept seems to have gone out the window...

Hmmm, apparently DC got lotsa letters and e-mails from MANHUNTER fans....it's apparently "uncancelled".
Well, at least for another 30 issues.

Ain't It Cool is saying that Bruce Timm and Stan Berkowitz will be working on a direct-to-video adaptation of DC: The New Frontier.
That should be interesting. Hopefully they won't dumb it down.

And Robo it's another five issues taking it to 30, not another 30 issues...unless it starts to sell better. But I'm guessing that's probably what you meant.

What a week for comics! First, All-Star Superman, Ultimates 2, Astonishing X-Men, Captain America and Eternals were all amazing. I was eagerly looking forward to Eternals and was not let down at all. I liked Neil Gaiman's 1602 but felt it was just lacking....something. Eternals hit the ground running and didn't stop until the last page. Can't wait for the next issue.
Also, was I the only one laughing my ass off when

I like that Astonishing is in it's own little pocket universe not having to respond to Civil War or any of the other X-books. It is really fun. I do find myself wishing they could switch up the page layout a bit more, but that my friends is called a small gripe.
All-Star Superman is just comics on acid! It's so damn trippy I can't help but enjoy it. I gotta say that I enjoy my Superman this way best - visually speaking. The ASS Supes looks like he weighs 3 tons when he's on the page. So dope.
Anyone pick up the Flash? I flipped through it, but for some reason I have absolutely no interest in the book and will only start to pick it up if people say it's really good.
