sorry, but winick's crap gets trumphed by the fact that Geoff Johns is also apart of this. Anything he touches is great.

One of the best comic debuts of 2004 comes out this Wed. so make sure all of you comic book fans pick it up. James if your out there, I'm sure you are going to dig this book as much as I do.
I have the exclusive first review of it anywhere over at Broken Frontier, click the link & then scroll down on the front page under reviews.

I, too, was interested in Trigger and have had it on my pull list for awhile - good to know it a great read (I was a bit disappointed in Vertigo's last new offering, Angeltown).

Must...avoid...reading IC spoilers.
Have any of you read this new Temporary book? A lot of online review sites are raving about it--I'm thinking of checking it out this week.
I picked up the past 2 weeks' worth of books last Wednesday--pretty good haul. I enjoyed She-Hulk #10 quite a bit--it wasn't a "funny" issue this time, but I'm pretty happy that someone has finally written a good Titania story after all these years (I've always liked the character). I'm also loving Y and Lapham's Detective...nice SB shoutout in that issue.

And, I heard that She-Hulk was stopping with #12 and the original artist - don't remember his name, but it started with a "B" and ended with an "O" - has been replaced with Pelletier. Is this true?

The name you're searching for is "Bobillo", and yeah, he's been replaced. I thought his style worked really well for the kind of book this is, but Paul Pelletier is a good replacement. Also, the book is indeed ending at #12, but it'll be relaunched in a few months (Runaways style), supposedly with a greater marketing push. Hopefully Pelletier will remain on the new title...this is a great book, but I think it got lost in the shuffle, since quite a few other titles debuted around the same time.

Well it looks like Ive held out long enough, and since its Christmas, Im going to start reading comics again. I gave them up for the last 5-6 months but to no avail, they are sucking me back in. Anything thats a must read? I think Im going to just do TPB now because being in NY, I dont have to much room for storage anymore. Also, basically the only store I know is Midtown comics, but I would like any suggestions of stores in Queens, particularly near Astoria. Much thanks for someone getting "back on the wagon".

Also, I don't usually do the convention thing, but I'm considering heading to next month's Big Apple Comic Con....they have some decent guests this time around.
Well, damn that sucks. Juan Bobillo was the reason I started collecting this book [at first]. I've liked Pelletier in the past, but his art isn't impressing me in this book.

Greg Rucka and Judd Winick
Art by Rags Morales, Ed Benes, Phil Jimenez, Ivan Reis, Jesus Saiz, and various
Cover by Jim Lee & Alex Ross
Three of the most acclaimed and popular writers in comics — Geoff Johns (TEEN TITANS, JSA), Greg Rucka (ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN, WONDER WOMAN) and Judd Winick (BATMAN, OUTSIDERS) — join an all-star roster of artists for DC COUNTDOWN, an 80-page Spectacular with the incredibly low cover price of $1.00!
Artists Rags Morales (IDENTITY CRISIS), Ed Benes (BIRDS OF PREY), Ivan Reis (ACTION COMICS), Phil Jimenez (WONDER WOMAN, New X-Men), and Jesus Saiz (MANHUNTER) each pencil chapters of a story that follows a member of the JLA through a mystery that touches on nearly every character in the DCU!
Topped with a cover pencilled by Jim Lee (SUPERMAN, BATMAN) and painted by Alex Ross (KINGDOM COME, JLA: LIBERTY AND JUSTICE), DC COUNTDOWN is an essential project that features nearly every major character operating in the DC Universe. It’s a project that will resonate for months to come and is a perfect jumping-on point for readers who’ve been wondering where the people who helped deliver IDENTITY CRISIS could possibly be going next. You won’t want to miss it! And the clock is ticking…

Pre-crisis comics are just funny no matter what your comic taste is.

Now take a look at the picture earlier about Countdown... now check out this

not to mention the great identity crisis ol JLA issue.
