Just got Sleeper #1-8 from ebay today. Can't wait to dive in to those.

Also, where is the best and/or cheapest place to get bags and boards?

Point Blank, a five issue mini, serves as a prequel to Sleeper; while not mandatory reading, it does serve to set the story up. Just FYI.

I've seen that mentioned before but didn't know anything about it. I'll check it out, thanks.

I don't consider myself a huge comic fan, but I've been hooked on Ultimate Spider-Man since the beginning...

Because of my enjoyment with Ultimate Spider-Man, I've recently picked up the first two Ultimate Fantastic Four releases.

You also might want to give the first two arcs of Ultimate X-Men (1-12, available in a nice HC) and Ultimates a try if you're a fan of the Ultimate 'universe.' I personally enjoy all four titles, though Ult X-Men was/is spotty.

Thanks LD, I'll give the Ultimate X-Men a try as well! I've never heard of the Ultimates...what characters appear in this comic? I'll have to look them up!

Thanks again!

The Ultimates are the Avengers - Capt American, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Wasp, Giant Man, and later, Hawkeye and Black Widow, with Nick Fury in charge.

RE: The Ultimates; I was never a fan of the Avengers, but I really enjoy The Ultimates so far. If nothing else, the art is fantastic.

A few questions:

Does anyone know what the extras will be for the Marvels 10th Anniversary HC? I read somewhere that the entire scripts for 1-4 will be included and that '200 pgs' of extras will be in the package, but some more definite info would be appreciated

Anyone read Blacksad? Its profiled in the Secret Stash/Indie section of the newest Wizard...I went to the website mentioned (www.ibooks.net) and couldn't find any info.

And a few comments:

Just read the preview for Dead @17 and I'm looking forward to finishing the series - #4 came out today, so don't miss it if you just jumped on the series (as many of us did).

The Three Strikes TPB comes out in March/April (again in the newest Wizard) from Oni Press. The mini was great - here's the summary from Wizard:

"Rey's a good kid who's made a bad mistake, and Noah's an ex-cop turned bail bondsman who must track down Rey, but when these two collide, one of them won't walk away.'

Also, the Cla$$war TPB just came out, that reprints #1-#3 of the oft-delayed series from com.x (#3 came out at least 18 months ago, and #4 will ship next month). I loved #1, but could never find #2 or #3, so I'm looking forward to it.

And Gotham Central rocks

I just finished CATWOMAN #28. Loved it. Thanks to the colors by Laurie Kronengerg, the art really stands out. It's the best book since the new art team joined. And the story...wow!

I missed Dead @ 17 yesterday. Store was sold out. Damn!

I should have Dead@17 #4 at my door in a couple of days. Got it for free from Viper because I ordered 1-3 plus the preview from their site and my order got lost. Jesse Garza over at Viper is awesome. He handled the situation and threw in a free copy of #4 for me. I can't wait to read it.

I've had time to catch up with almost all my current comics. For some reason the comic that's really sticking out in my mind right now is Ultimate FF 3. It didn't seem like much happened and I didn't remember liking the art in the previous issue that much, but I loved this issue even though I've never been into the FF before. In both 1602 and UFF, they mention the FF representing the 4 elements. Is this a recent idea or has this been around awhile?

Stupid Bendis, nothing really seemed to happen in the latest issue of UXM either, but I really enjoyed that too. Has Emma been in UXM before? So is she going to head up the New Mutants instead of the Hellions? I guess Karma and Dazzler will be part of the New Mutants; any guesses on any of the other members?

My favorite moment in my recent comic reading was the latest Y: the Last Man. When Yorick was confronted about the most horrible thing he had ever seen, I actually looked away before I looked at the next page. It's weird, I'm not easily disturbed at all, but there was something in me that didn't want to see what Yorick had seen.
