I'm in the same boat - already own the original first three HCs (on the fence if I'll buy #4 since I still buy it monthly) - but a heck of a deal for those who haven't picked them up!

In the spirit of the Spider-Man hardcover, Jeff Smith is releasing the complete Bone in a massive TPB. It's 1300 pages for $40, but it's $27.20 at Amazon. That's nine graphic novels worth of material:

As a counterpoint to the B&N Ultimate Spider-Man deal, www.talesofwonder.com is offering the 3 separate volumes together for the same price. While I'm tempted by the sheer size of the B&N book, I'm worried about the binding and being able to see the art/word balloons on either side of the split. I can vouch for the quality of the three separate volumes though as being top notch.

Good deals guys. I already took advantage of that Ultimate Spidey BN set. Hopefully it'll be good quality.

I also checked out talesofwonder.com yesterday and blew some $$. They had an awesome price on a signed/boxed EarthX set and 50% off TPBs that was too good to pass up. VERY reasonable shipping too.

The hardcover for volume nine has been solicited, the TPB will probably follow a few months after that. This 1300 page book is only going through one printing, then it will be OOP, so it won't replace the regular TPBs.

The current Marvel comics have a subscription offer for 1/2 off the cover price for many of their comics. Actually, it's 13.50 for a year and some of the comics are 2.95 a month, so they're more like 2/3 off.

I called and subscribed to a few titles, but I forgot to ask if the offer extends to any other titles not listed. If anybody else calls for this offer, could you ask if it applies to any other titles?

I know when it's supposed to come out from the Amazon date, but when is it really coming?

It was solicited in last month's Previews, so it should be out in August.

Which comics are the offers in? Is there an offer number?

They do charge shipping, but if you order enough you still come out ahead. The only drawback is that they charge you now, not when the books ship (same with all other online comic pre-order places; don't ask me why)

DCBS doesn't charge you when they order, they charge you a little while before the books ship. So if you have an order for a bunch of October books, it will usually be charged around late Sept.

i normally do alot of my buying through DCBS and this month looks really expensive!! as for when they charge you, it's always been the case for me that the charge shows up a couple of weeks after you place the order.

Here is their stated policy from the website:

Credit card orders that do not contain comic books or trade paperbacks will be charged as the items ship. All other credit card orders will generally be charged in the month after the order is placed. For example, orders for August 2004 items (coded AUG04XXXX) will be charged about September 15 if the order includes comic books or trade paperbacks.
