Re: What are you reading? August 2011
I am on Book 10 of the Wheel of Time. I am powering through them all at once. It flows pretty well but some things get annoying.
If a person walks into a room, its a guarantee that the next 2-3 pages will explain every character's name and describe ALL clothing in detail even if we never see most of them again.

Finished Bourdain's Medium Raw, which reads much more like an essay collection (which is completely fine). If anything, it's a good reference for chefs to watch.
Now reading:

Junot Díaz's short story collection Drown

Didn't do Drown, but picked up:

Johnathan Franzen's The Corrections
I don't get how people say he's too "lit"... This is interesting, readable stuff.

Just finished "Sven the Zombie Slayer" by Guy James.
I liked it so much I read chapters with character Milt twice.
I also liked "Z=MC2" by Kelly Jameson and short dystopian story "2BR02B"
by Kurt Vonnegut.
