What are you reading? (January 2010)
Happy New Year!
I was extremely disappointed with "The Lovely Bones". I can't understand how it has sold over 5 million copies. Anyway, next up for me is:

Just finished The Lost Symbol. I started and stopped on this one for a couple of months, but finally forced myself to finish it. Needless to say I did not enjoy it and I enjoyed Angels and Demons and Da Vinci Code quite a bit. This one just wasn't very exciting and was very predictable.
Starting I Drink for a Reason by David Cross now and also have Nine Dragons by Michael Connelly to start.

Started this a little while ago, and am gonna finish it up. I stopped because it was a lot about music (of which I have little interest), and when I picked it up again, I saw that the rest of the essays were about other culture. Sigh...

I just started:

Hopefully this maintains the momentum from Echo Park, which I felt was one of the strongest entries in the series.

Really? I thought that Echo Park was probably the worst in the series up to that point, only to be overtaken by The Overlook as the worst Connelly book I've read so far.

Interesting. Yeah, I was sucked in right away and the plot kept me guessing. I'm only a few chapters into The Overlook thus far, so I don't have an opinion just yet.

Just finished reading this after finding the author's name in the December thread

Enjoyed it a lot and looking forward to the second novel in the series.

Just finished Frostbite: A Werewolf Tale by David Wellington. Not as good as his vampire books and his zombie books, but worth a look if you're into that type of thing.

Just finished Area 7 by Matt Reilly. Great action with enough twists that I wanted to keep reading even when I didn't have the time.
