That's crazy, I just finished Echo Park and was thinking the same thing. One of my favorites in the Bosch series (My favorite from Connelly is still The Poet). I was surprised at how good Echo Park was; it seemed like the Bosch books were starting to get bogged down. The part where
I'm about to start The Overlook, too.

Will finish up Scott Sigler's Infected tonight or tomorrow. What a crazy read! Not such a good idea to read it while eating lunch today.

You and I are on the same page (so to speak). The Poet, The Concrete Blonde and Echo Park are my top 3 Connelly books thus far (have not yet gotten to his few most recent books). I was let-down by The Overlook though -- let us know what you think (it's a very quick read).

I'm surprised about all of the love for Echo Park. When I went back and read what I had posted here, I guess my problem was that there was too much foreshadowing in the book, something that Connelly usually doesn't do. It was brilliant compared to The Overlook though.
Really enjoyed Dennis Lehane's "A Drink Before The War", and next up is:

Yeah, that was a great read. I didn't read them in order, and I'm a bit pissed at myself now that I read them out of order. The reason that I did was that I picked them up used at various points, and couldn't find the first one (Drink Before The War) and the third one (Sacred), so I just read them as I got them. Not sure if it really impacts much, aside from some personal drama that got carried from book to book.
I am thinking about reading them in order now, as I have them all.

Just finished:

Not being a big ST fan, there was info in the book that was new to me. In general, a fun read, a bit tedious and disjointed in places. Kind of like a person with ADHD writing their thoughts verbatim. I probably wouldn't tend to recommend it unless you were already a Shatner/Star Trek fan already.
Just started:

I'm a few pages in and can tell I'm in over my head. I don't know that it will be an unenjoyable read, but there will be some work involved to understand everything. (Between literary and or social references and the language used, I can see needed the internet handy to help me through the book.) That said, I'm still looking forward to getting into the book.
