Fascinating book, and great story; you just can't make things up like this.

The Hitchhikers's Guide to the Galaxy is probably one of the funniest books I've ever read. Coincidentally, I'm reading:

Still reading Under The Dome by Stephen King. Great read but still trying to find a comfy reading angle. I really wish this was on Kindle

Lateralus you read some interesting books. If you had to pick three favourite books of the year, what would they be? Just curious.

Lots of good books this year, picking 3 would be tough, so I will give you 10 in order.

1.) Boone: A Biography by Robert Morgan

2.) Che Guevara: A Revolutionary Life by Jon Lee Anderson

3.) Leviathan: The History of Whaling in America by Eric Jay Dolin

4.) Caesar's Legion: The Epic Saga of Julius Caesar's Elite Tenth Legion and the Armies of Rome By Stephen Dando-Collins

5.) Conquistador: Hernan Cortes, King Montezuma, and the Last Stand of the Aztecs by Buddy Levy

6.) A Terrible Glory: Custer and the Little Bighorn - the Last Great Battle of the American West by Jim Donovan

7.) Uranium: War, Energy and the Rock That Shaped the World by Tom Zoellner

8.) Mayflower: A Story of Courage, Community, and War by Nathaniel Philbrick

9.) The End of Food by Paul Roberts

10.) The Drillmaster of Valley Forge: The Baron de Steuben and the Making of the American Army by Paul Douglas Lockhart

Interesting, I try to read a number of books on different subjects but it seems most of my favorite books this year are about war.

Re: What are you reading? (December 2009)

For such a short book, it seemed like it took me forever to read "The Box". It was pretty hit or miss for me, most of it miss. Still deciding on my next one, and even though his last two books were pretty awful, I am hoping to a return to form for Steve Berry:

No idea what's up next. I seemed to have lost my copy of The Road, so I need to pick something else.

Trying to finish something other than a pulp or a comic for a change.

About a Belgian SS brigade on the eastern front. The author evaded capture for his entire life as he was tried for treason in Belgium after the war.
