I really enjoyed the Beckham Experiment, although at times it does get a bit bogged down with details of specific games. Right now, I am about halfway through The Narrows and loving it so far:

I'm about to start this myself. Got to read Lost Light 1st. Have both right now from library, just got done with Stephen King's Under the Dome, which I thought was excellent. I just recently started Connelly, and am almost through his books. I think after that I may start the Richard Stark "Porter" series. Oh, and A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin, which I keep hearing about.

I did exactly that. I went to Gall. 72 pages in it's a good read and i'm happy I made the switch.
