Finished the 3rd book last week, so I finally get to start the next one as soon as the week calms down. I'm excited!

Wow, two Michael Connelly misfires in a row. I've was less than impressed with Echo Park and The Overlook (The Overlook was particularly weak). I might take a break from Bosch now and start the following:
Anyone else read any of Pearlman's other books? They all sound interesting to me.

Just finished My Name Escapes Me by Alec Guinness. It's a collection of diary entries from January 1995 through 6 June 1996. A tad snobbish at times (and clearly no love for Star Wars or its fans and their "idiotic, if lucrative, hobby"). Under all that, though, some entertaining anecdotes and a host of book recommendations. Bonus: Guinness crushing on Wallace and Gromit. With a week remaining in 2009, I don't know if I'll start anything else or not right now. Probably.

Finished:
The Road (Cormac McCarthy)
Solid book but I didn't enjoy it as much the 2nd time reading it as I did my 1st.

I'm about 2/3 into The Dark Tide by Andrew Gross now. It moves very swiftly, though there's a bit of soap-opera-feel to the book and the writing is very "simple". (Certain authors have such an impressive way with words I will re-read passages, but not here.)
