Great book, his Summer into Night would also make a great movie. Like a Goonies horror movie.

My first time reading Gaiman. About halfway through and it has been pretty entertaining.

Re-reading

I think this is about the 4th time, but it has been years since I read it.

Drood started out well, but then meandered for too many pages and kind of imploded. I felt Simmons fell too much in love with Wilkie Collins' voice, and could have trimmed quite a few pages.

One of the handful of books I've read twice. Love it.

Re: What are you reading? (June 2009)

It's interesting, about half of what I've read of his is Brooklyn-centered coming of age/mystery, and half is science fiction (or sf/mystery), but a type of SF I've not really encountered before. Or a combo of both. Definitely a varied talent. I think the last author I read who impressed me with his range was Walter Jon Williams.

Re: What are you reading? (June 2009)

I got tired of this series when I was reading it before but I think I'm finally ready to finish the last couple of books of the main series.
