Re: SAE Twilight Time Sale - every Blu-ray 4.95-14.95

I recall TT saying that they’d turn over remaining post-sale stock to SAE, but I’m curious if they’ll change course and offer some last-day blowout on Monday to save themselves the hassle. Just a guess, of course, or maybe wishful thinking. 😁 It’s not like I haven’t spent more than I can rationally afford already, including order #5 two days ago.

Seems a bit unlikely though I guess they could have one moe price cut. There are roughly 16000 units left of approx 40 titles at TTM so I'm not sure what kind of deal could entice folks to splurge on that many more discs after 4 months of being on sale and 2 months of the Clearance

Re: SAE Twilight Time Sale - every Blu-ray 4.95-14.95

In the same boat. I definitely spent too much, but as I look at it if this was 6 months ago it would be 3-4x more and it is not everyday that one of your favorite labels closes up.
I think I have everything that I want from what remains (that I did not order already).

Currently eyeing Yanks, Russia House, Stagecoach, Big Fix, and other titles I originally said no to. I think I am lingering because I know I won't be able to purchase from the site again. I am going to miss Twilight Time

Re: SAE Twilight Time Sale - every Blu-ray 4.95-14.95

They unleashed a bonus 10 dollar coupon on a 110 dollar order on top of all other discounts for the final day. The code is FINI

I hadn't bought any since my order in May so I did a final order.
With the pin up girl 3 movie deal it was a pretty good deal. And they still had some that I wanted like Forever Amber and the Big FIx.

Appears that entering the last day of the sale there are approx 15100 units left of 42 titles.
though the number of title is more flexible than you'd think. Late last night a single unit of about 20 titles
suddently showed up (assuming those were a bunch of those ticked off customers who cancelled due to slow
dispatches. All 20 of the titles were gone within a couple hours along with the larger Quantity Restocks of
L-Shaped Room and B&C&T&A.

Around 1am ET a huge number of items started being bought. Overall sales for Sunday was a little under 600 units, but
over 200 appeared to be sold b/w 1 and 2am ET including over 20 copies of WILD IN THE COUNTRY (somebody really likes Elvis)

Re: SAE Twilight Time Sale - every Blu-ray 4.95-14.95

With today being the last day, do we know what time TT will end? For example Midnight EST?

Revised: I have contacted their facebook team and they confirmed midnight EST as the end of operations.

Re: SAE Twilight Time Sale - every Blu-ray 4.95-14.95

This mornings email said Midnight PDT.

"Today, Monday, July 6th will be the last day we will accept new orders for Twilight Time films. We will take orders up through midnight PT. Please note, orders will continue to ship after this date until all are fulfilled. More information can be found on our website. It has been our pleasure to serve you for the past five years."

Not sure I'd chance it, but TT HQ is in WA so Pacific Time makes the most sense for them. I'm expecting the sale to proceed through 3am ET

Thanks hariseldon. The facebook team may have read my email quickly in their reply. Unfortunately I never received the TT email correspondence so I appreciate your notes.

GENGHIS KHAN (1965) -- SOLD OUT

Deerfield may have a legit chance of selling out in the next 6 hours. I'm not sure anything else will, but the last minute panic rush at the end of a 4 month long sale may yet infect some buyers with the urge -- so others of note.

FWIW, the prices on SAE still list the March Madness numbers. Not as good as TTM Sale and none of the extra
incentives, but at least no back to full price.

Again a big big sales day at TTM with close to 2150 units being sold, but in perspective TTM sold 40000 units the first 36 hrs of the Clearance Sale. A very late rush almost to the point of frenzy to get discs in under the wire. As best as I can tell 600+ units sold between 2am and 3am ET

Over the course of the entire 4 month sale approx 90000 units sold through TTM. The 2 month Clearance sale accounted for about 66000 units. I'll get the more detailed numbers out in a day or two. If there is something in the numbers you'd like to see, let me know and I'll see if I can extract it from my sheets.

Beat the Devil got canceled from one of my last orders. Can watch it for free with ads on Vudu.
I wish I followed this thread and updated my wl on TT before the last sale, but I was kind of lazy.
Got lots of blind buys still to watch, Overall I spent a little too much, but I'm happy .

One of my orders placed on July 1st shipped today. Not too long of a wait considering the circumstances.

Likewise. And they're upgrading to 2 day shipping it appears cos mine's scheduled to be delivered Thursday 7/16. That would be my final order from TT !

I placed my order for Drunken Master/Snake in the Eagle's Shadow. I wasn't really going to get it since I'm in Canada and the exchange and shipping charge is unfavourable to me but it was too hard to pass up. I love that movie and I don't foresee anyone else releasing it here in North America.

There is a Japanese release from a year or two ago which is supposed to be pretty good. Maybe not TT quality and there's tons of misinformation about it so trying to
figure out the specs is nearly impossible. Unlike most of the rest of the EU releases which are from a much older transfer, the JP discs seems to be a similar transfer to
TT.

There still is a lot of confusion if it's the exact same, what supplements are included, and even the audio tracks (Mono, 2.0, 5.1, ???), but it's not a PAL speedup master,
and doesn't seem to be 1080i which is actually listed on the back cover stock photos.

Like most JP discs it's not cheap but it's a lot cheaper than TT on Ebay

Yeah, I've been trawling eBay for awhile on The Egyptian. A Spanish release keeps popping up as well.

Spanish Disc
Poor European transfer of a PAL sped up version at that. 134 min vs the 24p 139 minute version
It also a Llementol BD-R release which means it's 90-99% chance of being a bootleg and they didnt even bother the steal the better edition

Re: SAE Twilight Time Sale - every Blu-ray 4.95-14.95

I had ordered 2 copies of a film. Twilight Time sent me an email saying they would have to short my order because they found they didn't have enough copies and they credited my card for one copy plus shipping. That was OK as I had ordered the second copy in error. However when I received my package there were no copies of the film. So they owe me a credit for one copy plus shipping. I have written them and hopefully they will credit me. Oh well. Mistakes were made on both sides.

Update. They responded within minutes of my email and said they would issue the credit for the second copy.

Glad there are people still there making sure orders are taken care of. Sorry I will not be getting the film.

There is a BFI version in the UK but shipping for one item is now over 14 pounds which is insane on Amazon Uk. Sometime I may find enough items to order to spread the shipping charge.

One of the few Twilight Time discs that I'm sorry I don't have is Kiss of Death. I know that it sold out a while ago. I don't even recall if it ever got discounted too much either. I'll need to look into other releases.
