The site's been a little slow to respond, so it's possible my script missed some stuff:

No. The list as you see it is fixed. Some titles may go OOS but they will get more stock unless it's in the "While supplies last" section of the site (those are not included in the sale and have their own "clearance" price - they can make decent fillers). If you include an OOS title in your order *none* of the order will ship until any OOS title is available again - one shipment for everything ordered.

IMHO, the best way to approach KINO sales is to make a wish list and then check it during a sale. Order whatever is on it that's on sale up to your spending limit. What's on sale this time may not be in the next sale but *could* be in a future sale or even wind up in the "While supplies last" section. And if you see something you want in that "While supplies last" section, don't hesitate. It could be gone in days or could be there for months - it's a crap shoot. I've missed out on a few titles in that section because I decided to wait and they sold out. That section is comprised of titles for which their license to distribute is expiring (those are typically the quickest to disappear) or they are closing the title out.

I am seriously considering getting both Outer Limits seasons. I think that is the best price they have had on them so far.

That's such a good price I'm considering a 2nd copy to "replace" my originals that use digipak style cases (that's how much I dislike digipak cases).

Does anyone know if they also reauthored the discs so it's not a "Play All" no matter which episode is selected (i.e. select e2 on a disc and it plays from e2 through the last episode on the disc before returning to the menu - no "play a single episode" option at all).

You can order it by adding it to your wishlist and then adding it to your cart from there.

And I *just* passed on picking up 2 or 3 of those thinking I'd pick them up later as they'd been in the sale for a while (one for over a year)... Looks like I may be making another order very soon.

I have OL on dvd. Awesome series. Weird that the blu's ($60 for 2 seasons on sale) are so much more expensive than Twilight Zone ($50 for 5 Seasons).

Re: Kino Lorber & KL Studio Classics sales, discounts, and deals

I'd say those who skip buying at least some of the 30 titles above -- assuming there's anything of interest -- will be paying a whole lot more more if they want them in the future because they're Fox titles, as noted. And once again, as with the routine complaints that their regular sales just ain't what they used to be (debunked somewhat in post #589 above), the 'while supplies last' selection was never exclusively $4.99 to $5.99. There have always been titles ranging up to $9.99, even higher. I don't know their rationale, but I've seen plenty of discs in there that were never as low as $4.99, even in the early days that they created that section. Just saying . . .

My previous order from a couple of days ago didn't include anything from the 'while supplies last' section, but now I'm contemplating quite a few in my cart, mostly for resale later on (plus a small number that I've never seen before)

Man on Fire is the 1987 Studio Canal movie that stars Scott Glenn. It's the same character from the 2004 Denzel/Tony Scott movie. I watched it on Starz last summer. It's okay, but not something really worth owning IMO.

Diva is no longer at $9.99, it's at $23.96. Weird, I wasnt aware that they removed titles from their sales.

Re: Kino Lorber & KL Studio Classics sales, discounts, and deals

Got my fix of Ida Lupino (damn, where is 'The Bigamist' ?), had been cursing myself thru the years for missing out DD's $23.99 sale price on that box set many years ago. Also had been wanting to add more Bronson titles to my collection. And then of course after reviewing some titles within my price range, settled for the following (only cos I received a better than expected refund on my tax)

I'm a Lupino fan also. I wasn't aware of some of these. I picked up the Kino mini box in the last year.

Re: Kino Lorber & KL Studio Classics sales, discounts, and deals

First order, from last week (the first two were cheaper at Hamilton recently, but I waited too long and they sold out):

Peking Express $8.99
Raw Wind in Eden $8.99
The Monster Squad (4KUHD) $17.99
To Live and Die in L.A. (Special Edition) $9.99
Dead Heat on a Merry-Go-Round $8.49
The Blood Beast Terror $9.99
September Storm 3D $8.49
The Maze (3D) $8.49
Hercules in the Haunted World $9.99
Man in the Shadow $9.99
Diva $9.99
Impasse $9.99
Programmed to Kill aka Retaliator $8.49
Gator (SE) $9.99
White Lightning (SE) $9.99
The Boogens (SE) $9.99
The Questor Tapes (SE) $9.99
The Man Who Wasn't There (3D) $10.99
He Walked by Night (SE) $10.99
Larceny $9.49
Marco Polo $8.49
+
Goodbye, Dragon Inn $9.99
Made in Hong Kong $9.99
Millennium Mambo $9.99

I was really glad to see the Metrograph Taiwan/Hong Kong titles (bottom three) in the sale. I didn’t realize they were distributed by Kino (or else just never noticed them on the site) and have been saving them in my Amazon cart waiting for a deal because I didn’t know where else to look, and Metrograph doesn’t sell them on their own site. They’ve been promoting some of Hong Kong ‘New Wave’ director Patrick Tam’s important early films theatrically recently, so I’m hoping that’s a sign of upcoming Blu-ray editions.

- - - - - - - - -

Second order from Sunday, to get some ‘while supplies last’ titles. A couple of others disappeared from my cart while I was procrastinating (not sure which ones):

23 Paces to Baker Street $6.49
The Beautiful Blonde From Bashful Bend $5.99
Night People $5.99
Daddy Long Legs $7.49
David and Bathsheba $7.99
House on 92nd Street $7.99
Western Union $7.99
Boy on a Dolphin $8.49
Daisy Kenyon $8.49
Fixed Bayonets! $8.49
No Highway in the Sky $8.49
Rawhide (1951) $8.49
Trouble Man $8.49
Yellow Sky $8.49
I, the Jury $8.49
100 Rifles $9.99
Boomerang $9.99
Chosen Survivors $9.99
Compulsion $9.99
Deadline U.S.A. $9.99
Hangover Square $9.99
The Laughing Policeman $9.99
The Mark of Zorro (1940) $9.99
What a Way to Go! $9.99

np. Kino releases so many films, it's hard to keep up. I am at the point where I check preorders daily and add to my wishlist so am ready for any sale!
