I ordered the Oldboy Limited Edition [Blu-ray] from MovieMars,but it has not shipped yet.
Just says Arriving Oct 21 - Oct 31.and the movie about triple in price since I ordered it from this seller.

I nevered ordered from a UK retailer on Amazon.com before. I ordered the LE set for about $32 about a week ago.
Still not showing ship, And Moviemars is still selling the set,but jacked the price up too around $100.
Not sure if I should try to contact Amazon or wait. I'll research it a little more when I get home.

My Monsters - Zavvi Exclusive Limited Edition Steelbook was damaged on the side right in about the middle.

ahh shit... It looks like half the post in this thread are from me.

Interesting that they moved the Six Gothic Tales from just a £25 preorder price to the BOGO at 49.99.
I placed my order with ArrowUK earlier and received all but the preorder in 3 days. I splurged and told them to do split shipping so I end up
with 2 shipping charges instead of one though with the weight differences with the Boxset removed it only ended up $6-7 more expensive anyway

I figure in they ship the Gothic Box hopefully on the 24/25th, I have a decent shot at getting it on release day -- or if they ship on release I should still get it bey Halloween.
Arrow Priority shipping charges have given me very nice packaging and no damage on any of the items I've ordered compared to Zavvi;s packaging and shipping on their non Steelbooks.
2-3 day shipping and great packaging makes me feel a lot better about the higher shipping charge and some of the individual sets being more expensive (and no sales tax).
OTOH I usually don't order from Arrow until I can group at least a dozen titles in an order so that helps with the overall shipping/item

EDIT: maybe better. I just got an 2 dispatch notice and FexEx notices -- one to replace an item they left out of my first delivery, but the other has to be the Gothic Box. it will be here
Monday a full week prior to release date. I just don't understand why they didn't put them into a single package -- I even suggested they do that when I sent the original message about the missing

Sorry I was not clear in the other post or left out zavvi.It was late.

The Preorder items are now part of the sale at Zavvi Arrow sale.Zavvi is almost always cheaper over Arrow.uk with lower shipping cost,even though they mail in multiple packages .They mail their SB in small cardboard boxes that get damage easy in the mail.


Zavvi items included in the sale went from 235 to 260 .Besides the 3 pre-ordered box sets and the Bloodthirsty trilogy,I'm not sure what they added.

I haven't had too much trouble with the Zavvi SB boxes (1 minor damaged out of my last 10), but the non steelbooks are even less well packed.
I ran my orders through Arrow and Zavvi and found for the itmes they had in common (each site had a few the other didn't), Zavvi was less than 3% cheaper once I added their sales tax.

I figured one box with 2 day Priority and well packed vs 16 separate packages showing up (hopefully) in 7-21 days, I could live with the small upcharge
I did make a separate order at Zavvi for 4 Arrows the main site didn't have in stock or weren't on sale there (Abominable Dr Phibes)

Yes Arrow shipping is always tops for me too Ordered 4 movies from Zavvi and all came in separate packages, with 3 arriving the same day. All in good shape except for that one steelbook.I hate to send it back,but the dent is deep and can not be pushed out.and I buy so few SBs these days.

Picked up a few. I very much dislike the new shipping rates.

Just check my last order from Arrow.UK was just over a year ago and it was during a sale and about the same shipping cost.
I try to buy from Arrow.US releases if the same movie is available in both countries. But I never check in most cases until they have a sale or a special edition I want to buy like the Oldboy set.

Almost seams that way. Twilight time might be next or do they already have one going? They do lots of sales these days.

2019 Twilight Time/SAE had a 15 for 15 in April as the only sale before Sept
2018 15 for 15 in March and a MGM Sale in February, then an late June sale
2017 and 2015 they had an excellent March Madness sale
2016 April there was a $10 off sale

Appears to be a massive sale (SAE, haven't checked TT) with almost every available BD 4.95-14.95 I don't see anything higher.

I'm just guessing, of course, but during the sales most general titles are 7.50 GBP, -10 GBP at the most.

Prices sound about right -- not as good as those boxsets that used to be £25, but pretty nice for the singles.

ARROW UK sales tend to be prtty regular though not perfectly timed

Around Easter, Black Friday/Xmas/FESTIVE, and some sort of Summer Sale are common enough

Caveats -- a lot of ArrowUK titles are Region A friendly, but only around half. Arrow lists region status in their descriptions, but it's only fairly accurate (if it says A+B you're probably safe), but many items they list REGION B are either Region Free or at least Region A+B

Grindhouse Video is one of the retailers that sell ARROW US disc and is having a simultaneous sale.
SHipping is flat rate $5 or $10 depending on your order.
They have approx 200 items on sale including several that are US Exclusive and a couple that are sold out or not on sale in the UK
A bit of a warning -- this is essentially a one many shop and he only has a handful of disc on hand. As I understand, he orders discs from his ARROW Supplier as needed then ships them which the order in complete. This means it can take a while to get your order. I think he only accepts PAYPAL for payment though I could be wrong.
