Not sure they are going to sell too many EuroCrypt Vol.2's at that price.

Just a thank you to Hamilton Books…always interesting stuff, some I’ve never heard of and able to grab things for a decent price.

Sounds like something that would have, and still is, right up my alley. Surprised I haven't seen it! (Also not sure I want to take the leap at that price though.)

Re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

That was a bonkers price for the Empire Pictures box set. Sold out nearly everywhere and at around half the price you’ll find it for anywhere else.

Re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

I picked up both of these in my last Hamilton haul
Hunt for Red October (Blu)
Star Trek (2009) (Blu)

To reduce space I throw away the cases, putting the media and artwork into DiscSox folders. These two titles, unexpectedly, came in Steelbooks. Technically I guess they're called MetalPaks. Here's an eBay listing with photos to show what they look like.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/166252759750 - Red October
https://www.ebay.com/itm/295687299673 - Star Trek

I'm gonna toss them out unless someone here wants em. To be clear, this is for the cases only.

Gone.

A few interesting titles; but inflation or not, the pricing is beyond my abilities.

Re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

I ordered the Perry Mason Season 4-6 set for $11.95. Once in a while they have the old half season sets for $5.95. This is the cheapest I've ever seen any seasons from that show offered

I had been hoping they’d add Minsky’s to one of their rounds of Olive titles. Nice!

Re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

Good prices on the three Jet Li blu-rays for those who like Hong Kong cinema and/or missed out on the Ronin Flix limited editions of all four films which are now OOP. FIST OF LEGEND and TAI CHI MASTER are the 'Easternlight' editions and not the Ronins, but are essentially the same, and the LEGEND OF FONG SAI YUK double-feature seemingly IS the Ronin Edition. Ronin didn't do new transfers for their editions, just minor clean-up apparently, and the features are all from the old Dragon Dynasty editions (save for the Bey Logan commentaries, for obvious reasons; although they could've left off the Brett Ratner interview too, for my money). I wouldn't be surprised if 88 or Eureka or another boutique rereleases these down the road, but they'd have to include a lot more new supplements to beat $6 a pop on these ones.

Re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

Another temptation on the Ronin Jet Li films... but I passed again. Sure... they are cheap... but it sounds like there is more Jet Li films in store from the UK boutiques. I'd rather have better quality versions. Not that I listen to commentaries... but I also found it annoying that that "TimesSqKungFu" guy from Twitter did a commentary on one of them.

I was tempted to mention them, but the pickings are slim, and mostly stuff I don’t have. I do have two of them, though, purchased at higher prices from then in previous sales: GIRLS NITE OUT and ONE ARMED BOXER. Haven’t watched GIRLS yet, but ONE ARMED BOXER is a solid classic if you’re into older martial arts films. I almost feel like the rest of the $7.95 Arrows are actually leftovers from the $11.95 batch just a little while ago. The price is tempting.

Interesting. I didn’t realize they added new commentaries to replace the Logan tracks. I don’t think Ronin listed them on their site. Sneaky. And yeah, the fact that they’re down to using ‘Twitter guys’ for commentaries fits with a comment I made elsewhere around here about how I’m getting sick of every podcaster and blogger with even a micro-following booking gigs. Admittedly, some do their research, but many don’t have a lot to share and end up sprinkling it throughout the entire excruciating track while finding new ways to reinterpret IMDb filmographies, or high-mindedly noting other movies that certain scenes remind them of, even when there was zero connection on the part of the filmmakers. FIST OF LEGEND went OOS while it was in my cart. Still have the other two there (TAI CHI MASTER isn’t the Ronin version, anyway), plus a bunch of other stuff, but still contemplating the buy button, especially now that the Grindhouse sale has expanded. And there’s little doubt the Jet Li films will get reissued.
