Re: Twilight Time Blu-Ray Deals

I had some interest, but Screen Archives Entertainment's shipping charges are a rip off.

Re: Twilight Time Blu-Ray Deals

Now no media mail from SAE .from their facebook page

We are sorry to inform you that due to excessive loss and damages, we will now no longer be offering the Media Mail shipping option. All US orders will only be shipped via First Class Mail and Priority Mail Services, which has always been the standard mailing method available on our site. This is based on weight and not able to be chosen for a preference. All currently pending orders with the Media Mail option selected will still ship via this method. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

Re: Twilight Time Blu-Ray Deals

TT was trying to make a score off media mail, when their packages were demanding the USPS Priority rate because of the value. Not smart. How desperate are these people.

USA: $6.40 for the first disc and $1.55 for each additional disc. Don't forget to add $1.55 for each disc in multiple CD sets. All orders will be shipped via United States Postal Service (USPS)..
The USPS does NOT care how many discs are in a set. Only TT does. What's next? They'll charge extra if the cover is reversible?

10 movies at their already high prices would mean another $20+ for shipping.

Sorry to see Media Mail go. Purely a soundtrack supplier, that option finally made them competitive for me compared to Intrada, which is the only other venue that stocks product from a variety of other labels. SAE is back to being a last resort.

Re: Twilight Time Blu-Ray Deals

SAE's media mail rates were a joke, only marginally lesser but seemed acceptable only compared to their Priority mail rip off. But again USPS does treat it's MM packages like dirt, so there's no winning this

Ditto here. I also agree their MM rates seemed a bit inflated (maybe they just wanted to account for packaging/handling costs?). First Class/Priority might be less painful on certain sale orders for TT discs have been reduced to the $5.00 - $8.00 range, since there's certainly enough savings on product to balance the shipping costs.

I see people say that but I ship via media Mail and have consistently for more than 20 years with ebay on stuff I sell and have only had maybe one problem out of the thousands I have mailed that way.

And I agree that SAE/FSM is a joke on shipping. I know people use them here for movies but if you just want movie scores shipped at a decent price, use this place if buying 3 or more CDs... https://www.moviemusic.com/info/onedollar/

Been using them for years and never had an issue.

The media business gets less profitable each year. It wouldn't surprise me if Screen Archives is trying to make a little extra through their shipping fees.

I think they were the source I turned to to get Obsession last year. Even though it was a re-release, it had a very low edition size and sold out relatively quick.
I didn't know what to expect never having used them before, but they came through just fine.

I keep forgetting about them. Thanks for the reminder!

For those who don't know, tracked media mail is only $2.75 for the first pound (+ shipping box, labels, ink, etc)

Imo, they have such a high shipping charge because it's technically overhead. An expense of doing business. Immune from taxes. Not considered "profit". They were advised a long time ago to increase their production numbers because so many wanted the titles but couldn't afford the high prices which then became perfect for scalping on eBay by some.

They're not doing anyone, any favors. Sell it off to Arrow or something.

blurb from TT: 'We have discontinued Media Mail as an option for US shipments. While it was economical, it didn't meet the high standards we require in a shipping service. We just added a new, low-cost 2-day express option from FedEx.'

Guessing SA follows suit

Both dropped MM in mid January. Apparently too many lost packages, damaged product, and complaints. With SAE (and lesser extent TT) their movie packaging was pretty much stellar so
speculation was that the far more fragile CD jewel cases weren't handling it well.

Doesn't SAE have some exclusives, though? There might be a few titles that haven't seen the drops in prices.
