Since it's not on Blu-ray and it's a popular show, House MD complete series $79.99 :) Snagged one up. Per CamelCamelCamel it has been this low sporadically but it has never gone lower.

Fa rscape complete series $52.99
http://www.amazon.com/Farscape-Compl...words=farscape Is this a good blind buy? I've heard tons of things about it. Shows I LOVE: X-Files, House, M.D., Monk, C.S.I. (Vegas), E.R. ("new" one), Angel, Buffy, Burn Notice, Alias. Edit: I bit. $57.28 after tax. I see it's available on Netflix. What I'll do is watch a couple of eps and then if I hate it I can just sell it on eBay, goes for $80 easy. But it's so highly regarded and this set so recommended there's a good chance I'll like it and there's quite a bit of extras. |
re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
Why not just watch a couple on Netflix, and if you don't like it, just return the set unopened to Amazon. Problem solved.

re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
I thought there were other Farscape Blu-ray special editions released.

re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
This is the newer 15th anniversary edition with the extra content.

re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
Nice. Definitely a good deal.

Thanks. Time to finally make the upgrade and free-up some shelf space.

Based on that list of shows, I'd say you'd like it. It has a bumpy start though... the first 6 episodes are some of the worst for the entire series. I'd push through them and see how you feel at season 1's finale before you cast it aside. And the muppets grow on you. At first they stick out as the worst part of the show, but by the end of the series they'll be the heart & soul of the show. Enjoy the ride!

Not Blu-ray but it's not available on BD:
Monk complete series $66.99 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 $88 less than the limited series and it comes minus the nice outer box, ep guide booklet, and book with pictures, but the 32 discs with all the eps and extras are the same. |

I've come close to ordering this many times since it is pretty cheap for the whole set but just not really sure I'd watch them enough to really want to own it. I got the first film's digibook a while back for a low price and that's probably good for me.

re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
There's a superior sequel spread out amongst the failed multimedia project that followed the original Matrix. I feel the amazing effects and setpieces actually make the first film seem dated and small by comparison.
I'm a firm believer in the idea that bad sequels/remakes/reboots etc. can't take away from the original that we loved enough in the first place to spawn the inferior followup, but The Matrix is arguably the one exception to that rule. |

The Matrix Reloaded has the dubious distinction of being one of only five or so films that have compelled me to walk out of the theatre - and believe me, I've sat through some really dreadful cinema. And I really *wanted* to like that film. Needless to say, never bothered with the 3rd one. |
