Also The Untouchables complete series (~$33 w/store pickup - Amazon followed a while but bailed out when WM went that low). There were a few others that saved ~$50 over the "normal" prices. The Monday after Mother's Day both were back to mostly the original prices. Since then they've been doing it with other titles/products on a somewhat sporadic basis.

Can only guess what madness will prevail upon the upcoming 'Prime Day' event....if Walmart's keen on taking Amazon to the cleaners

This is getting very annoying with Amazon repricing items every day. Ordering, cancelling, reordering. I chose slowest shipping, not for the $5 pantry discount but to make sure I can cancel the item each time the price goes down .

Nothing new, is it?

I know that Amazon's prices have been fluctuating for years now. More than once I've put something in my cart and had the price change minutes later while I was looking for other items to hit free shipping.

Shit, just a couple of weeks ago I clicked buy on a a "buy it now" auction on eBay and the price had jumped up by about $9 on the checkout page. It was an auction I had been watching and when I decided to buy it I went to the auction page that showed the price at about $40, and in the three seconds between opening the page and clicking the buy it now button, it had gone up to just under $50. Seems really fishy, dunno if it's some kind of scam gaming the eBay system or just an unfortunate coincidence. I didn't confirm my purchase and didn't buy the item.

I ran into that recently with (of all things) some crackers I really wanted. I had no idea they were on sale until the price jumped by 25%

I have reordered and canceled 2 blu rays about 4 times over the last 2 days as every time I check the prices have gone down.

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on Bad Day at Black Rock so I wouldn't keep getting notifications in my shopping cart about it shifting a few pennies.

Why. Amazon charges the lowest price up until it ships.

Not unless its a pre-order.

Finally bit on:
Valley of Gwangi (WAC) - $10.27
World without End (WAC) - $11.06
Bad Day at Black Rock (WAC) - $11.10
Ladyhawke (WAC) - $12.42
The Thing (Shout Factory) - $13.81

$31 with Rewards and some remaining GC. Can definitely live with these prices and didn't want to risk it anymore given 'Miami Vice' went back up by $12

Most certainly confident of scoring 'They Live by Night' for around $15.xx during the upcoming B&N sale, hence passed on it. But if the price wars were to continue, will bite around the $16 price range

As laidbacklarkin said, only on pre-orders.

It's ridiculous, but you have to keep checking the price and cancelling/re-ordering until it actually ships.

Damn, Streets of Fire is now down to $14.76

Man, I bought it release week for $19.49. I don't regret buying it, it's a great and jam packed set. Worth the money IMO. But, this is an anomaly. These Shout discs rarely drop in price like this only 1 month after it's been out. I can't see it dropping much more. It will eventually go back up.

It's also one of the Walmart sale items (currently at $14.46) that Amazon's been chasing for a few days now, so I suspect when Walmart's goes back up, so will Amazon's.

Looks like Amazon dropped the pursuit on Angry Red Planet. It's back up to $17.98, while it's dropped even further at Walmart, to $12.75 (after I locked in at $13.01, of course)

I discovered on a recent pre-order at WM that they now offer price protection on pre-orders. Two box sets I'd pre-ordered dropped in price and within hours I had emails from them indicating the lower price - which was automatically applied to my orders. One I'd cancelled and re-ordered before that email and the new order got the further price reductions before it shipped.

Both were shipped to the house as they didn't offer a pickup discount large enough to bother with, but that one on ARP is superb!

Bad Day At Black Rock $10.88
They Live By Night $16.89
Justice League Unlimited: The Complete Series $16.16

6/24 9:30 AM EDT Update "They Live By Night" jumped to $26.19. I guess $16.89 was it's lowest price for now.
Bad Day At Black Rock $10.66

Also keep an eye on The Beatles' Eight Days a Week - Deluxe edition by Ron Howard. That has been dropping every so often in price as well and is at significant discount for Beatles' product.

Cancel my order again & re-ordered at the lower price of $13.61. It's a good thing I did not just wait for another price drop. The price now is $20.37.

It appears like the three WAC titles will settle finally at $10.27. BDABR is now that price, VOG is already at that price and WWE is at $10.84

Also, 'They Live by Night' (Criterion) is now $15.90...very tempting to bite but the game's exciting to play. At $15.40, it will be equivalent to B&N's price at 50% off + 10% off + 20% off. Think I will bite :-)
