While not a great price and I try to not buy Criterion outside of the yearly BN sales, Badlands is my favorite film of all time and dropped to $26.99 - had to bite to have it on release date. The Blob is also at $26.99 - hopefully A Man Escaped will drop also.

Just an FYI on Goodfellas...the transfer could've been much better. It's....alright.

The Planet of the Apes: 5 Film Collection Blu-ray has dropped from around $33 to just $24.74 (51% off, or just $5 per film):

http://www.amazon.com/Planet-Apes-Fi...et+of+the+apes

Edit: Soon after I placed my order, I checked the link, and the Amazon price went back up to $32.85. This item wasn't in my Gold Box, so it didn't look like an offer just for me, but I'm shocked to see the price jump back up so quickly.

Are the James Bond deals really good? Isn't cheaper buying the collection? The Bond 50?

I think it really comes down to whether you want all the Bond films or prefer to pick and choose which titles to get.

Well, the set is realllllly nice. But I'm a pretty big Bond fan and I'd like to have all of the movies (except Moonraker and Die Another Day, but whatever).

Pfft. If you like 'em so much, why don't you go ahead and write an in-depth series of well-crafted essays all about 'em?!

Yes. There are only a half dozen or so Bond movies that I enjoy revisiting. Except for the last two, I've seen most of them in theaters, starting with Thunderball (1965). While it was fun to see with my friends at the time, Thunderball is a good example of a movie than hasn't aged well and which I have no interest in seeing again.

So, the Bond set is available for serious Bond fans and completists, and the individual movies are available for those of us who just want a few favorites.

Wow. Nice douchebaggery, there, dogmatica. That REALLY added to the discussion.

^^^Yeah, I got that aspect of it. It just seemed unnecessarily mean-spirited and added nothing to the discussion. It's a working definition of a threadcrap.

EDIT: Upon rereading the posts in question, I suppose that the parties involved could be friends and that this is merely a bit of chain-yanking. If that's the case, I truly apologize to dogmatica for calling him out on what appears, at first glance, to be a threadcrap. If not, I stand by my original comments.

It's all good, bro. Kudos to you for a) sticking up for a stranger and b) apologizing to a stranger on the Internet. Both moves are rare, respectable choices and very appreciated.

Thanks, dogmatica. I'm sorry for this blip in the thread that I've caused, and I'm sorry to have misunderstood your post. I just saw what at first glance looked to be bullying behavior, and I overreacted. Thanks for being gracious under fire.

In an effort to steer this thread back onto track, I will point out that the individual Bond films have gone back up in price--most to $9.99, but several quite a bit above that. It appears that it was a price match for Best Buy's prices, which have gone up as well. Still, I was glad that I put in an order for several, as I am apparently the only person in the known universe who really, really prefers that every movie have its own case and be in strictly alphabetical order--that's why I didn't buy the Bond box set, and why I buy very few box sets in general.

It's the curse of having been a librarian for ten years.

^ I keep my BD's in alphabetical order as well, but was HAPPY to get rid of my Bond discs in favor of the box set. It freed up a LOT of space on my shelves for other titles, and I don't have space to add a new BD rack. I keep my box sets elsewhere.

Without a Paddle: Nature's Calling $7.49

Traveller / Telling Lies in America (Double Feature) $7.61

Yogi Bear $9.54

A View To A Kill $9.99
Gladiator $9.99
Braveheart $9.99
Dreamgirls $9.99

Dexter: Seasons 1-6 $169.69

If space is limiting you could do what a friend of mine does: keep the discs in a binder and throw away the cases...

I think for Bond I'd feel compelled to file them all together in chronological order. :)
