Assume that all of these are available to all customers unless specifically listed as member only like the Welcome Package. Also remember that any preliminary codes are just that and BN could pull it, change the details or exclusions anything prior to release so always a bit of YMMV until the final release date

Mini FAQ
Coupons should not work for PREORDERS , Nook, Legos, Rosetta Stone, Digital, Gift Cards, Memberships, etc. There are glitches where sometimes an excluded item will be allowed but assume that is the exception to the rule
Free Shipping is $25 (before tax/shipping) or with membership.
Max 3 GC on a single online order.
Online only a single code can be applied to an order
Return period is 14 days after delivery (possibly 30 days for members though I've never tried)
Online ordered items can returned to a local store unless it's classified as a web-only item then it's at the store's discretion to accept
The long standing Free 60 day Trial Offer was discontinued in late May 2016

Yeah, ordered it. Was waiting for it to come down to around that price point. A few years ago, I would have been shocked that people here were obsessing more over Police Academy than, you know, movies and TV shows that were actually good. Alas, I think I've become used to the fact that "good deals" means "ridiculously low prices on something you probably shouldn't ever own anyway" here these days.

Most of the "deals" people post on here I wouldn't watch on TV for free let alone purchase. But, to each his own. I keep my opinions about them to myself because not everyone has (the same) taste.

Good choice. Now if someone mentions a deal and asks for opinions on whether it's worth the price, then it's wide open.

One of the best shows ever. IMDB ranks it as the #18 spot in their highest ranked TV shows ever.

Same. Most of the things I list I've never even heard of, much less would be interested in purchasing. But I never know when they might be of interest to someone else. There are some popular genres (horror) or directors (Tarentino, Stone) that I will never, ever, watch for any reason whatsoever. Yet I like things, such as romances (number one on my favorites list has long been Pride and Prejudice [1995], which I consider the best screen adaptation of a novel ever done), that are anathema to much of the DVD Talk demographic.

Best to just list things that seem to be deals because there might well be someone who likes those titles. And that's fine.

HAD to state this in context. Consider me your brother in expressing appreciation for the 1995 TV adaptation of 'Pride and Prejudice' - that set ought to be in every collector's set for fine acting, a solid cast, superb editing and faithfulness to the original novel. Its 5 episodes are extremely engaging and am not sure of you, Lizard, but I have watched that entire program at least 6 times since the time I discovered it in 2001. So yeah, perhaps we will be 'hated' together for this liking :-).

And that's what makes the forum and your posts useful...deals for everyone. I may not find something everyday but I do find enough to keep me coming back to check multiple times a day.

How's the blu-ray version of Pride and Prejudice? That sounds like something I would be interested in

Not a blu-ray and we were lucky to get this BBC TV miniseries of Pride and Prejudice even on a dvd, but the Elizabeth Garvie (Elizabeth) version is the truest adaptation to the book and it is now available free on Amazon Prime instant video. Judge for yourself, but I know the book very well and this is the closest by far and well done by non-name actors.

I know he's a name now but wasn't Colin Firth a name at that point when he did the one from the 1990s? Or was it from this that he became a name?

He wasn't a name around here. Maybe in England but not America.

Yes, Firth was already a star for the most part in Europe when the 1995 production was made.

He was also at least 'known' here for Valmont in 1989.

I'll take a Gilliam hit or miss any day. So $11.99 is the perfect price for a Gilliam blind buy.

Gilliam is worth it at any time. Hit or miss, he's that unique that it is worth it.

I regret not buying that. I figured it would hit BD eventually, but I'm still waiting...
Whereas all of the titles which I did I import on HD-DVD have already come out on BD... I chose... poorly.
