I just put one of the current deals in my basket and it said I had 15 minutes to purchase it. Of course they could be cutting the time down for really popular items.

I wasn't really paying attention to the one item I purchased ... but it wasn't that short. I'm thinking 10 minutes ... others will know for sure.

My father in law got a PC in a lightning deal yesterday. We had 3 minutes.

^I was waitlisted on a printer. When my turn came up on the waitlist I had 3 minutes to accept and place the item in my cart. I then had 15 minutes to complete the transaction.

Just bought Tin Tin and when I selected "add to cart" a counter popped up counting down from 15 minutes.

So far the timer to accept a waitlist item has been 3 minutes and it's been 15 minutes to check out once the item is in my cart. I've had the same lengths on timers for disks, video games/accessories, and small appliances.

A couple of times I've been on a waitlist and gotten a "your time to accept this offer has expired" popup when I've *never* gotten a actual countdown timer to accept the offer. At this point I've still been able to snag the deal(s) by going back on the waitlist but it's *very* frustrating when you actually leave the page open "just in case" and this occurs.

*EDIT* Just got a 35 second countdown timer for We Bought a Zoo waitlist acceptance. Man... go *anywhere* or get just slightly distracted and you can miss those!

Kids in the Hall: 100% claimed
We Bought a Zoo: 100% claimed
The Adventures of Tintin: 100% claimed
John Carter: 27% claimed

(I saw John Carter and thought it was decent, but I don't think I need to own it.)

I've found my iPad doesn't play nice with amazon and these lighting deals. I've had to refresh the page once the timer goes to zero and the deal doesn't start for me.

Will see if my desktop pc handles it better.

I thought John Carter was awful. It was slow and incredibly sloppy, story wise. But, I'm glad someone found enjoyment in it and Amazon has sold 27% of their LD stock.

Maybe the timers have to do with the amount f stock versus the number of people on the item wait list?

I bought one...I just got a 3D TV a few weeks back and am looking to build a 3D library. Blind buy for me. If I don't like it, I can always sell it back to Amazon for $8.45 and take a $9 hit...risk I'm willing to take.

Doesn't look like it!. Are you only interested in specific seasons or did you already purchase some?

For some reason I couldn't get the lightning price on that one to show until about 3 minutes after it should've showed and it was already at over 50% claimed. I had to do a panic order on that one. I didn't think those would go that fast, are there that many Chris Elliot fans out there?

So with my $5 off $25, and a cheap pack of guitar picks added I got it for about $20.

I bought Get A Life, and the Steve Martin set too. Steve Martin was an impulse buy. But I'm looking forward to Get a Life...

Same here. I just bought it for me but then thinking about it, I may just give it to my Dad for x-mas and then borrow it from him.

For anyone considering the Jeremy Brett complete Sherlock Holmes at $91.49 on Saturday's Gold Box, right now it is $75.99 new through a third party, fulfilled by Amazon.

the best Sherlock Holmes characterization ever...too bad they shot on such inferior film stock...the magic of today's remastering can work wonders to some extent and they have attempted it on this set, still video quality leaves a lot to be desired. I have this set and am saying this from having watched it in its entirety

I was at work while that deal was live. Knowing that I was gonna miss it, I wound up snagging a copy on eBay for $20. I'll have to wait for it to get to me, but at least I got a good price.

Same thing happened to me! I had to finally reload the page and scroll back over to it to get the "add to cart" button to show up. I would have been angry if I missed it, but it was only 58% claimed by then.

No problem getting the Steve Martin set, who knew there were more Chris Elliott fans?

Maybe they just had less stock of the Martin set.

I bought the Steve Martin set. Would have liked 'Get A Life' but the price didn't seem all that great. I don't mind waiting on that one.

I missed out on The Lorax (Blu) for $8.96 or whatever. It would have been a blind buy but happy to have paid that price.

Was it one that was gone instantaneously?? It'll make me feel better if it was!

And I know the standard def DVD is $3.99 all week but I was only really interested in the Blu.

EDIT: Never mind. I just got it for $8.96 from Wal-Mart's website. Seems to be the regular price there...for now.
