Yawn. Also, strangely, The extended LOTR trilogy was cheaper the other day than it will be when it's on sale.
Another forum is reporting that this will be the DOTD at Best Buy on Monday for $39.99. Hopefully Amazon will match. |

Some of you are freaking out over nothing. Like Sotra and Todd B. said they have matched Best Buy and Walmart prices over the course of the week, but they're just not lightning deals.
That'll make it worse than lightning deals because I won't know when the ones I want are going on sale, and I can't stay on the Internet checking constantly while at work Monday through Wednesday, so I'm more likely to miss those random deals than Or is there any chance Amazon will match BB's BF prices at a predetermined time?

True. There have always been other price drops during the week, that aren't part of this calendar. I would bet I buy more titles that way than I ever do on the lightning deals.
Does camelcamelcamel scan Amazon often enough to catch price changes within a few minutes if I set up alerts? Probably not. |

Are you saying Amazon is going to PM all or most of BB's BF movie deals during the week as just "surprise" sales rather than lightning deals?

On what web site/URL do you check those? Not here because I don't think there's enough traffic? Surely you can't be searching everything on Amazon periodically. The only way I know is to check the headlines in Blu-Ray dot com or Slickdeals dot net. Does camelcamelcamel scan Amazon often enough to catch price changes within a few minutes if I set up alerts? http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/deals.php?country=usa In fact, I use it year-round and it is also how lizard compiles his list of low prices, I believe. |
Re: Amazon Black Friday Week Lightning Deals Calender - 2012 Ed.
Very weak sauce... Not one thing appeals to me on that list except, perhaps Ken Burns: Prohibition. Most of it is probably slow-moving backstock, except the occasional bone thrown in (eg, BRAVE). Seems to be mostly TV stuff... Still, all of it'll probablly sell out within seconds.

Re: Amazon Black Friday Week Lightning Deals Calender - 2012 Ed.
I know that last year Amazon did random/surprise PMs, but I seem to remember that they also added a few things to the schedule as the week went on, didn't they?
|
Re: Amazon Black Friday Week Lightning Deals Calender - 2012 Ed.
They did. I recall the calendar showing dvd versions of movies/shows and then the BD showing up on the calendar later. Hopefully the same happens this year.

Why not join Disney Movie Club and get those? You can call the order in and if they turn down any of your titles just keep trying. I got the first 3 and others have gotten Great Mouse Detective. You have 2 years to purchase 2 titles. The code for this promo is in 1st thread. More info here: 9 Disney blu's for $89.70 (avg $9.96 each) at DisneyBluRayClub.com. Note the average is even cheaper when you order special features of the month. This month's feature for me was: Santa Paw's 2/Prep & Landing/Tigger Movie all for $43.95 shipped.

How did you find that link? I've been looking on Amazon's website for a while now and I can't find it there.

Is the Black Friday lightning deal schedule just hidden on Amazon and the original poster just found it? I was looking a bit ago for it and I can't find it on Amazon's website, just here. |
Re: Amazon Black Friday Week Lightning Deals Calender - 2012 Ed.
I was wondering the same. Seems that the section is hidden on amazon but the op found it or got the link somewhere else and posted it here.

Re: Amazon Black Friday Week Lightning Deals Calender - 2012 Ed.
Do they also have a schedule when the tv's are going to be on sale ? That would be great.
|
Re: Amazon Black Friday Week Lightning Deals Calender - 2012 Ed.
Nice price on true blood s4. Hope other seasons go on sale, too.
Safe to say Thor and Capt. America on sale all day on Thurs or Fri? |
Re: Amazon Black Friday Week Lightning Deals Calender - 2012 Ed.
I don't often go in for double-dips just for the sake of BD upgrade, but the Sherlock Holmes collection is a steal at the price.

I wish someone had a decent sale on some Disney blus. Want to get Pocahontas, Rescuers, Treasure Planet, & Great Mouse Detective for the kiddos. In the past you could get one of those for $10 to $15. Oh well...

I am keen on the MPI Sherlock Holmes Blu-ray set and the Ellery Queen DVD set myself. Both are excellent deals.
EDIT: I am reading some pretty bad reviews on Amazon about the HOLMES Blu set, but DVDBeaver and BluRay.com don't have real issues with it. So who is right? Does anyone here already own the set? |
