Maybe you didn't go out of your way to sit at the damn computer waiting for the deal. I wasted an hour, tried to talk to the stupidest CSR's I have ever encountered. They don't seem to understand what you are saying. Talked to a supervisor who lied to me and made shit up to placate me.

On top of that the thing went into a shipping stage about 15 minutes after I ordered it ( I took the chance to order it so the CSR's could see what I was talking about). Immediately sent a request to cance and got it cancelled, so I don't have to return the damn thing.

I'm done. Unless the contact me (ha ha) and offer to give it to me at the previous deal, I'm not even gonna try anymore.

It's basically a digital bait and switch.

It's one fuck up out of the hundreds they have offered this BF. If you were inconvenienced by sitting in front of your computer, go live your life instead of sitting in front of it. The item you wanted to buy isn't a necessity.

EDIT: I'll let you all get back to the deals.

It's not entitlement when you rearrange your day to take part in an advertised price. Just because you didn't want it, doesn't give you the right to call the Prof a "whiny bitch'.

I could quote this dozens of times on this thread. Much needed perspective.

Why don't you do it on your own time.

Well, I got an email with a link to how satisfied I was with Customer Service. I indicated that they did not take care of my problems and ended up on the phone. The CSR understood completely my problem and even indicated that the other CSR's were more than a little dumbfounded. I was nice but firm and thanked her for taking the time to truly understand my situation. 5 minutes on the phone. Long story short, I got the price. So it may be worth a shot.

Okay, then, serious question: If you don't think saving money and finding good deals is important, what are you doing on a bargains forum?

Could it possibly be just to laugh and point and snark and feel superior to everyone else? Because that's what it reads like.

OH, yes, sorry. I forgot that my posting to this forum was somehow infringing upon "your time" of whining about not getting a deal, rather than focusing on upcoming deals we all *can* get.

Or, wait, did I misinterpret the purpose of this forum as being a space to actually share bargains/deals with one another and not just to document one's crusade against the horrible Amazon CSR establishment?

I suggest that it might be more constructive to focus on the deals that we all could benefit from, rather than continuing this ridiculous crusade to see Nigel Bruce in HD.

I'm just suggesting we move along, and get a fucking sense of perspective on all of this. We're here because we like the deals, not because we're dying to read someone else's fight with Amazon over a perceived deal.

Anyway, I'm done. I look forward to reading more deals and honestly hope the folks who didn't get deals they were looking for can gain some peace in their beleaguered, unfortunate lives.

Jesus....so much for the jolly good spirit perpetuated by the season !! Get over it, folks...its just a piece of merchandise, you win some, you lose some. While being young at heart is a good thing, juvenile tendencies are not. C'mon now, shake hands and get on with your lives

Almost ordered the Holmes set on my phone, where the price was so small I didn't even notice it was wrong. Glad I decided to wait until I got home. Definitely passing at the $57 price. And like others have said, this was not a necessity, and would have gone unwatched for some time anyway...

At least you Canuckians still have Hostess products, so you've got that going for you.

Re: Amazon Black Friday Week Lightning Deals Calender - 2012 Ed.

I don't want to feed the trolls anymore than I already have, but I think everyone is aware that the item is not a necessity. What's more important is Amazon not honoring their advertised price. If you went into a brick and mortar store with a newspaper advertised price for a product and they told you that yes they had the product in stock, but decided to raise the price without explanation, you would at the very least wonder how and why this happened. Disappointment and frustration would be natural reactions.

I think most people would agree, despite what a tiny minority, who is probably one and the same person, trolls on about. There is truth to some of "their" contentions, but that doesn't mean it's all inclusive. And it is curiously applied to a forum whose subject matter is about garnering the best deal you can. Plus so soon after one of the posters was roundly criticized in another thread, which hints at hurt feelings retribution.

The only good thing about Holmes is that it got the conversation off of Bond.

I do wonder what happened here, though. Since the price changed in the calendar at the last minute, there was some thought put into it. Perhaps they were expecting stock from the vendor and didn't get it, and any other stock they could have sold would have been at a significantly higher cost to them?
