Believe me, I'm a HUGE Rathbone Holmes fan. I grew up watching these films on TV in the 70's and 80's). Never saw Brett as Holmes though, so I'd be skeptical to blind buy that. But I'm all over this set for 35 bucks... I am curious how many of the 14 films I never saw. I'm sure I didn't see all of them.

If you're curious, there's a lot of Brett on Youtube. I'm a fan.

Cyber Monday is an illusion. I don't see any new deals worth mentioning. 18.99 digibooks is not much of a deal.

Leave It to Beaver is the only other thing I'm interested in. Other than that, I'm done until TDKR is released.
Cyber Monday has always been a letdown.

Agreed. IMO, Amazon has been a huge letdown this year. They had a few awesome surprises like Bond, but MOST of their lightning deals were just pricematches of BB or WM deals, except in a more limited time window!

Everyone has a favorite Holmes...Brett was a favorite of many. And if you are tied to the style of one actor, it could be difficult to like/embrace another. That being said, they are all enjoyable

I like Elementary on CBS, which is a modern day re-imagining of Holmes. But very entertaining...

Even though it's not essential, I'm quite pleased that I can now see Nigel Bruce in HD.

I didn't make a bid for the Rathbone but I'm glad they finally came through with the deal

And you didn't even have to be a "whiny bitch" to get it!

Re: Amazon Black Friday Week Lightning Deals Calender - 2012 Ed.

Trusting the reviews I have read on the Holmes set. I have always liked reading the books and watching the different tv shows/movies he is portrayed in.

Also got Colombiana since it was cheap and at worst I watch it one 1 time and am semi-entertained.

Was bummed I didn't get Fight Club or Unstoppable earlier today. Was at work and then got caught up in a meeting that I got to the computer 10 or so minutes after it started and was waitlisted on both,

I was tempted to get Safe House too but figure it will be cheaper at some point in the future. Plus I ahve some Amazon credits saved up now for going with the no rush shipping that I can check out some other movies with.

Re: Amazon Black Friday Week Lightning Deals Calender - 2012 Ed.

I'm like kenbenobi in that I've never seen all 14 of the Rathbone HOLMES films, so am looking forward to my first viewings in the best presentation possible, at least to date. Some of them are public domain, so finding decent copies besides these and the previous SD set is probably never going to happen.
