After looking at the official MGM site, I am going to back off the lower case logo, since they use it on their official site.

You are right - I had not seen that before, so I guess that doesn't really indicate anything, other than the discs are newer.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

There's rumblings on social media that my local store and some others have already started raising prices. I'm hearing things are $1.25 now but I haven't stopped by to verify. Will be interesting to see if that has an effect on the buying habits of people. Maybe I'll be more selective now with cheap movies!

I know it makes me less likely to enter a Dollar Tree, but why do I get the feeling we will all soon be thinking $5 is the new $1.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

Yea, saw videos on youtube about dt charge more on random stuff so not a buck no more. seeing how 99 cent store media is 2 bucks ea i not be shocked if dt start charging 2 bucks or more for media anytime in future by chance. so it not everything but guessing name brand stuff by chance be more a then a buck besides any tax later any. 99 cent store also does charge more for random stuff and guess cause name brand any so try profit some how since traffic not mind name brand at a cheaper rate any.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

I expect something like regular quarter and dime increases now that Dollar tree is free of the $1 threshold. Inflation is a bitch.

Does anyone know if DT will feature discs this year for BF like they have the past few years? Want to plan my day off in case they do

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

Walked into a store today and found a huge Black Friday display that appeared to be untouched. I could tell it was for BF because the boxes containing the discs said 11/26/21 on them. At this particular store, the display was a full end cap from top to bottom. That apparently wasn't enough space because there a couple of boxes at the end of a checkout lane as well. I'd say 85-90% were DVDs. And of course some of what I found we've seen before. Here's the notes I took down for what was on BD:

Anchorman
Another Wolfcop
Arizona
Astronaut
The Attrition
Dark Was the Night
Emoji Movie
Ghost Town
The Good, the Bad & the Ugly
Gotti
Horrible Bosses 2
The Island
Jack Hunter and the Quest for Akhenaten's Tomb
Killer Tattooist
The Last Train
Lego Batman Movie
Monster Party
The Project
Red Rage
Ride
The Sneak Over
Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home
Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country
Star Trek IX: Insurrection
Suburbicon
Terminal
Things I Do for Money
Trick or Treat
Voodoo Apocalypse
Where We Disappear
Zoolander

Picked up 10 of the titles above. Paid $1.25 for each of them. I would imagine all stores are receiving their shipment this week and it's just a matter of whether they put them out now or hold them.

Also bought some DVDs. I'll list those in the appropriate thread.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

Stopped at my local store this morning. Grabbed these two discs: Arizona was the only 4K disc in the house. It was a blind buy - but if You see a 4K for a dollar You buy it, right?
They are in white boxes, and were in the electronics aisle in this store. Mostly DVD: a lot of those Hallmark-type Christmas movies and D-grade horror movies.
What struck me about the BluRays was that there weren't many titles, but there were multiple copies of what was there. Anyone looking for Battlestar Galactica Season 4.5 or Dinner For Schmucks on Blu will be happy - this store had about 10 copies of each. There were about 5 or 6 copies of the Star Trek 4 Blu. The only Blu's I saw single copies of were the aforementioned Arizona + Downsizing (Matt Damon).
Others I recall seeing (multiples of) were: Monster Party, Terminal, Ride, Mary, Power Kids, & Another Wolfcop.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

4 stores around me here in North OC in SoCal...none had any BF media out. But I can't for the life of me understand these low lives that cut open and steal discs from BDs and DVDs in a Dollar Store. I mean really ??

Some nice fines.
I bought Sabotage a while back from Hamilton books for around $4 to 6.
Those VHS style slips are cool.

Got a nice haul of movies when I went on BF, StarTrek movies etc., but nothing like these rare gems.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

I did spot Terminal on Blu-ray. The big finds at this one location were all DVDs - tons of the more obscure Woody Allen MGM flicks on DVD.

I bought this release before. At the end of the film on the BD it said: "Restoration by Vinegar Syndrome", but don't know what was on the VS Blu-ray (never had it). The DVD is just the old Xenon Pictures DVD release.

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

Picked up a few titles from some local DTs in the area.

All stores were at $1.25, which I honestly doesn't bother me.

BD

Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich (2018)
Suburbicon (2017)
Terminal (2018)

I was hoping to find a copy of The New Kids (1985) but didn't see any

Re: Dollar Tree BLU Rays!

For those interested, it appears as if more media was put out over the last week or so. I've visited 2 stores -- One had just a couple of boxes on an endcap. The other had the entire front display filled up.

As far as BDs, the titles I noticed were all ones from the previous waves. I did see some new MGM titles on DVD.
