Damn. And here I thought I got a bargain on the U.S. site -- even with the exchange -- when it was $22-ish U.S. dollars.

Probably worth noting Amazon Canada's pushing some decent DOTD's up here as well. Today's is the Complete Absolutely Fabulous for $39.99 (yesterday's was the Complete 24 for $49.99). Most of these will probably be repeats from last year, but the prices on those two are a bit lower than they were then.

A lot of Arrow titles have dropped in price recently - ordering in bulk gets them down to under $9/title. Lots of Corman/Poe/Price titles, etc - but be warned, some of these could be re-pressings that do not include the collector's booklet (even though the site will say it has it included). --Peter

Amazon.de 3 films for 15 Euro. Includes some WAC titles like The Big Sleep, Key Largo etc...and also some other interesting titles like In the Mouth of Madness, Hamlet, The Postman Rings Twice (both 1947 and 1981 versions are eligible here):

https://www.amazon.de/gp/promotion/A...pf_rd_i=514450

I found this much more preferable than the 10 for 50 euro sale that just ended. It's a lot easier to find 3 titles than 10. This also works if you put 6 titles (discounts to 5 EUR per title).

great pricing for the same content and quality as compared to the WAC discs in the USA. Also plenty more interesting stuff but many with just German subtitling and audio tracks.

Heh. I just want Amazon UK to run a deal on House of Cards season 5. I refuse to buy the shitty digipak in the US. I want that keepcase.

Amazon.de has a "3 for the price of 2" promotion going on right now. It's running in multiple departments(movies, music & games). I have no idea when it started or when it ends, but you can narrow it down to just BD/3DBD/4KBD by clicking on the left side panel.

Krzysztof Kieslowski's Dekalog (Region B Locked) is about $40 delivered to the US. It's 1080i which is technically truer to the original broadcasts, with higher bit-rates than the Criterion release. I also like the fact you get the DVD's (which I like for extras or commentaries because I can watch/listen to them at 1.5 speed). But the real selling point for me is the 128-page book which appears to be substantially more than the Criterion.

Just squeaked in on the Amazon deal.

Due to the trouncing the Dollar has taken over the last few months I was going to forego any new Intl. orders until summer (assuming it would rebound a little) . $10 off a $100 order pretty much makes the loss of value a wash.

Still, even with the lousier exchange rate compared to last summer, it's still a hell of a lot better deal than when I first jumped in back in 2014 when the exchange rate was something like £1 = $1.72.

I just got an email that Costco Visa card is no longer charging a 3% foreign transaction fee. Of course i don't know what their mark up is as far as what rate they use to convert other currency to dollars. I would say I could now use my Costo card at Costco in Canada but Canada Costco uses Mastercard as their exclusive credit card,

I normally find it's less than 0.5%. It's a little hard to get a little more precise since today published CC rates are based on the close 1-2 days prior and MC/VISA seem to be offset a little. Unless there are drastic changes day to day which doesn't happen too often it's pretty consistent

It appears GBP closed 1.379 last night and 1.391 prior and 1.399 the night before

Today's Visa Rate for 3/1 is 1.391 (1.3998 for 2/28)
Mastercharge appears for transaction closing 3/1 is 1.378 but was 1.391 for transactions that posted 2/28 and 1.3993 for 2.27)

Good to know the conversion rate is based on Visa and not Citibank which issues the Costco Visa Card

More Zavvi Sales:

2 for 20 pounds steelbooks (includes Raid 1/2, Lost in Translation, Midnight Special and others)

5 for 30 pounds steelbooks (mixture of titles, Macbeth, Spinal Tap, Wolfcop, etc)

I picked up Lost in Translation and O Brother Where Art Thou from the first sale. Didn't see enough in the second sale to make it worth my while (and the idea of 5 steelbooks in the same package (or 7) scared me a little, lol)

How does Zavvi pack? It's pointless ordering steelbooks if they arrive in brutal shape.

They're pointless anyway. They always have such terrible disc holders inside I'd kill for steelbooks with Viva Elite disc holders and trays inside.

I have ordered a bunch of Steelbooks from Zavvi and they all have been fine. They are if I remember - packed in a white non-tear envelop with some thick plastic sheet in side. Even if you order a bunch of them, they may not all be shipped together, which is fine since the shipping price is still the same.

Yes, I've been pretty lucky as of late. Padded envelope is the most I've received, and I was pretty shocked there hasn't been anything profoundly damaged. It's a roll of the dice....
