I'm hoping to get them to show up before the coupons expire on the 7th. By the way, does anyone know when on the 7th they expire? Like right when the clock hits midnight on the 6th, or 2359 on the 7th or another time?

Oddly enough, I did get Finding Nemo in my Gold Box today, but some BD/DVD combo with Spanish packaging. I want the 3D version.
I also got the spanish version in my gold box today. I have no idea why because nothing I've ever purchased or browsed would indicate I speak spanish. Strange.

Yeah, me neither.

I also got The Avengers DVD in my gold box today, but I haven't bought a DVD in years. Come on Amazon, hook me up!

Also, K-Mart has The Incredibles on sale for $20 this week. I submitted the price to Amazon hoping they match, so if others do it it could help! I've been waiting on a deal on this BD for forever.

Similar titles coming out around the same time is your best bet. So the other Disney animated titles (Aristocats, Pocahontas) with coupons to get Nemo. Maybe John Carter and other 3D action for Avengers (I'd say Hunger Games but it might not quite work).

Their system is sometimes tough to figure out. I've bought a bunch of Walking Dead TPBs but I generally don't get the newest one in my GB. But I bought a couple of the New 52s and now I get all the others.

Yeah, I would try John Carter but that's shipping this week and I don't want it. I would if it was coming out in a few weeks so I could cancel. I did pre-order Hunger Games since it was on The Avengers page, but no luck yet.

I'll try Pocahontas though to see if it works for Finding Nemo.

Re: Amazon Blu-ray Discounts and Deals Thread #27

Amazon finally _really_ matched Target's $19.99 price on the 2D BD of John Carter and $24.99 on the 3D BD. So, with the $5 preorder coupon the Amazon price is now the same as Target's minus tax, but...

Target has a $8 off John Carter + another Disney BD promo going on. I assume it's ANY Disney BD and not just certain titles? If Target does this as usual, they will automatically take $4 off each BD making John Carter $4 cheaper than Amazon. The only problem is Target carries very few Disney BDs (maybe 10-20 by my guesses) to pair up with John Carter, and I probably already own them all. I couldn't find a way on Target.com to get a list of all Disney BDs carried in stores. I don't suppose anyone knows of a way to get that list?

Certainly! I just wanted to know if there was a way to see the Disney BDs carried at Target stores, but I think I'd have to click on every title on the 2 pages that show up under Disney Blu-Ray to see if it's sold in stores. It's not worth taking the time if there's no easier way.

I'd go with Target's deal and cancel my Amazon preorder if I knew there was a 2nd Disney BD I'd want (of which I'm doubtful going by memory of their Disney BDs).

Someone was reporting on another site that there was a sign at the front of the store in their local Wal-Mart with the offer of $10 off any Disney BD combo pack($12 & up) w/ purchase of John Carter BD combo pack.

Don't know if that deal is regional, but I figured I would throw it out there.

I decided to stick with my Amazon order since they pm'ed Target.

The Planet Earth / Life is 1080i versions.

The other two seem to have gone up in price. Grat catch for those that got them.

BTW Human Planet is also this price.

I don't know what's available in other regions, but I think 1080i is the only way to get the Attenborough version of Life in North America.

The version of Planet Earth included in these sets is 1080i but does have all the bonus features, which the original NA release doesn't have. That might be a reasonable tradeoff for some people.

Actually, quite a few of these BBC titles are interlaced, but the PQ is fine IMO.

The Life version that is included in the box set is the exact same version that is sold individually (same with the Planet Earth SE that's included).

That's interesting; I wasn't aware that there is a discrepancy between how the separate and boxed versions were labeled (one 1080i and one 1080p).

Good to know they are the same...and apparently both progressive.

Yeah, the Life / Planet Earth pack was still $29.99 through Amazon a few minutes ago, but it's back up now. Glad I scored one.

Yup, all gone now. Blu-ray.com is still listing the Life/Planet Earth combo as live, but when you go to the product page it's all thid party sellers.

Another case where it paid to be fast!

I saw that Best Buy has been dealing these series at $20 each, which was tough to believe.

Fifteen bucks a pop is even better! Congrats on a sweet deal!

The deals stayed alive for at least 3 hours which is actually pretty good. The only people who missed out are those on the west coast who don't get up early to check SD.
