One of our Big Lots had a bunch of blu-rays, nothing notable, bunch of stuff they'd had on DVD previously as far as I was concerned, but I did find Anaconda for $5. Never did buy that on DVD, guess I was waiting to find it somewhere for cheap. I guess a $5 BD is cheap enough.

The two Big Lots! near me were virtually wiped clean of Blu-rays. Plenty of DVDs from movies to series sets. You just have to hit it when they get stock. I don't make planned stops. If I am near a store, I pop in take a look and if the shelves are bluless, leave.

I know the feeling, but I'd consider getting any movie of interest for 50 cents a successful trip.

One location did seem to get a new assortment of DVDs and Blu-rays. Some we've seen before and a few new ones.

Blu-rays included Never Let Me Go, Vampires Suck, There Be Dragons, and Snow Flower & the Secret Fan. I saw a smattering of new American Dad DVD volumes.

DVDs included Shuttle, Roadie, Masked and Anonymous, and Once Upon A Time In Shanghai.

I remember seeing a dvd called Roadie recently at BL that was NOT the rock comedy with Meat Loaf. No idea what it was.

I bought a few a couple weeks ago. Still gone are the days when I'd come out of Big Lots with about 2 bags every week.

I bought some socks there this weekend (3 pairs for $3 on clearance!) The cashier told me next weekend is their last 20% weekend until after the holidays. I don't know how credible that is, but I thought I would pass it on. The store was full of Christmas stuff, so she may be right.

This was verified at blu-ray. They always have 20% sales in July and October, as far as I can remember. I'll have to do my pre-sale scouting trip tomorrow to see if it's worth a repeat trip on Saturday.

My local store had the BF display out on Wednesday. I had received an e-mail coupon for $10 off of $50 earlier in the day, the wording made it sound like it was good just for that day. So I was motivated to use it, so I grabbed the following at $2.88, along with some DVDs and household stuff:

I have to admit the only reason I purchased the double feature with the Ernest film is that I've met someone who had a role in the movie. I've never seen it before. I hope it has some redeeming quality.

I got several yesterday (Friday) afternoon, there was no crowd at all (seemed like a typical day).
