It's not pointless if you don't already own it. I'd be all over this if I hadn't already picked up the Blu for $8.99 on Amazon a couple of weeks ago.

I'd just assume you'd pick up the dvd for way cheaper. Also, you'd still have to purchase something else for more in order to get it, since this is a bogo for 50% off.

Re: 50% off Blu-rays @ Borders

Went to a local Borders at lunch today here hoping to find something. They had unfortunately not much worth talking about. Only about 4 criterions, none of which interested me. Held Red Cliff (International Version) for a little while which would have been $15 with the coupon but put it back. I just didn't honestly think I could sit through that sucker. Anyway, only interesting thing was I overheard two employees talking about the coupon behind me which probably meant it was picked over in the morning. Oh well

Red Cliff the very long cut is very good and worth the 5 1/2 hours to watch.

I went in today and picked up the new Exorcist for $14 after the extra 10% for being a gold member
Also grabbed the audio Blu-ray of Damn the Torpedos. for $12.

Might go back to get Seven and maybe one other.

Re: 50% off Blu-rays @ Borders

I went into the El Segundo store to get the Criterion STAGECOACH, which the computer said was available there, and when neither I nor the friendly manager could find it, he offered to get them on-line and send them to me w/free shipping-- only for us to run into this problem THe coupon says 50% off in-store and online, but all we get is the B1G1 50% offer. This is deeply annoying, particularly as there are large signs saying that they can order anything they don't have in-store and send it directly to you.

Damn, you're all over the place. Membership is free. This is not a going out of business or store closing sale. If it was either of those, why would you need a coupon?

.............

I'm looking through my Amazon wish list and trying to find what would be worth buying, since the 50% will be off msrp (or higher). I wish this ran until 3/22 when Stand By Me comes out. It's msrp is only $25.

I got The Goonies 25th Ann. BD for ~$25 (after coup), reserved on-line for p/up at the Pearlridge store. I wanted to get it at the Waikele location, but yesterday the news announced that they were being shuttered at the end of May. I might check out the Honolulu store over the weekend....

Picked up the Goonies 25th Ann box for $17.50 and Speed Racer with slip cover for $7.50. I am thinking about getting the Gone with the Wind Collector's box for $32.50. Not sure if I can use another coupon on a separate visit.

You can use the coupon on multiple visits - even on the same day - at least i've never had a problem with it. To save on ink & paper, copy the coupon's url on your mobile device and show the page to the cashier.

At my local all I need is mention the coupon. They always have one behind the register.

Re: 50% off Blu-rays @ Borders

btw just wanted to add that the extra 10% off for reward plus members is taken off the final total
after all other discounts and coupons have been used.

so If it is $100, you get $50 off for using the current cuopon, then you get another
10% off the $50 for a final total of $45.
So the final Discount amounts to 55% off the original total.

Also if anyone is looking for the now oop 3 Days of the Condor blu I bought one
today and it's stickered $29.99 but wrang up $4.98

Or maybe they took the 10% off before factoring in the coupon.
$100 - 10% ($10) = $90 - 50% ($45) = $45

It rang up at that price without a coupon?

I guess I'll have to make a trip out there. I wish I could check the store inventory, but it's no longer listed on the website.

Re: 50% off Blu-rays @ Borders

Big YMMV...Best Buy price matched the coupon and I was able to get 127 Hours and Pirates of the Caribbean Trilogy for $45. I'm sure having a Borders right next door factored into their decision. I didn't see anything worth buying at Borders.

Any particular titles I should be on the lookout for, bargain-wise? Idiots at my local Borders locked all the Blus away in a case, spine out, so it's impossible to tell the prices on about 90% of their stock.

Online price for Apocalypse Now Full Disclosure BD is $68.99, but the list price is $59.99...

Strange.

They'll mostly all be msrp, but in some instances a little higher. If you have a smartphone, you could just pull up Amazon and check the msrp.
